Ch. 564The new Contract Spirit that brought a variable

Roland fought the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven across the collapsing world and pierced it with Slash Emperor, inflicting fatal damage before the weapon and world were destroyed. Though the serpent remained dangerous and Roland was nearly spent, he revealed that he had counted on another arrival and looked toward the Sea of Worlds.

  • Roland endured the strain of using Slash Emperor at its peak as he fought the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven in Pāpīyas's Simulated Universe.
  • The clash destroyed the World Barrier and exposed the Sea of Worlds as the serpent attacked Roland with a torrent of fire and serpents.
  • Roland closed the distance and drove Slash Emperor through the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven, leaving it fatally wounded.
  • The Serpent of the Sixth Heaven snapped its fangs and shattered Slash Emperor, then claimed it could survive for hours despite its weakening power.
  • Roland said killing the serpent was only a means to an end, rubbed his Silver Ring, and anticipated someone arriving from the Sea of Worlds.

Ch. 565Refined in an Instant and Shitianwu

Roland summoned Shitianwu, a Contract Spirit whose power matched the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven, and refined him instantly after revealing that his cosmology had already incorporated the ultimate expression of Magnetic Field The Strong. Earlier, Aleister and Lilith witnessed the world's magic being sealed by the Artificial Heaven Project, while Aiwass explained how magnetic field rotation could eventually return.

  • The Serpent of the Sixth Heaven attacked Roland, but Shitianwu broke into their domain and saved him.
  • Roland explained that powerful Contract Spirits had been hidden in the World Sea and that his cosmology's achievements had drawn Shitianwu to him.
  • Roland connected Shitianwu's power to the Slash Emperor, and the Serpent realized Roland had incorporated the ultimate Magnetic Field The Strong into his cosmology.
  • Aleister felt the world's magnetic field power vanish as the Artificial Heaven Project erased magic and separated mystery from physical laws.
  • Aiwass told Lilith that future children could rediscover magnetic field rotation and that Shitianwu would aid Roland as a blessing.
  • Roland seized the Contract Spirit named Shitianwu and refined him instantly.

Ch. 566A multiversal cosmology

Shitianwu sacrificed himself to save Roland, restoring his strength and awakening the Imitation Creation Star Map as Roland began ascending toward a multiversal cosmology. The Serpent of the Sixth Heaven attacked him during the transformation but realized his power could not stop Roland’s evolution.

  • Roland promised Shitianwu that his new world would guarantee happiness and salvation to those who endured its trials.
  • Shitianwu vanished into white light, and his power flowed into Roland and Slash Emperor, reviving Roland and awakening the Imitation Creation Star Map.
  • Roland’s wounds healed as his power surged, and a movement of his arm manifested and exhausted tens of millions of galaxies.
  • The Serpent of the Sixth Heaven attacked Roland with the full force of Pāpīyas's Principle while Roland was evolving.
  • The Serpent of the Sixth Heaven saw Roland’s Star Garment withstand his attacks and recognized that Roland was becoming a multiversal cosmology.

Ch. 567The world-ender who met his end

Roland ascended into a newborn multiversal god and overwhelmed the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven. He destroyed the serpent, ending their conflict and leaving him alone amid the Sea of Worlds.

  • Roland understood that his new path would be shaped by the obsession driving him forward, then unleashed a tide of worlds against the Serpent of the Sixth Heaven.
  • The serpent struggled against the multiversal torrent, suffered unbearable pain, and failed to reach Roland.
  • Roland let the torrent subside and gave the serpent an opening to attack, but its full-force charge left him unharmed.
  • Roland seized the serpent, tore its body apart, and explained that his power and level now far surpassed its limits.
  • Roland crushed the serpent’s final remnant and declared that they were even.

Ch. 568Roland's world-shaking act of creation (end of volume)

After defeating the threat, Roland restored the A Certain Magical Index World, revived the dead, and returned its Phases to their original states. As magic entered public life and Misaki Shokuhou took charge of the Blue Dream Company, Kamijou Touma arrived with a new power gathering in his right hand, suggesting a promising future.

  • Roland cleared the destructive embers from his body, then agreed to Aiwass's plea to save the world.
  • Roland reshaped reality, restoring the world, relighting the stars, repairing damage, and bringing the dead back to life.
  • The Blue Dream Company proposed making magic openly available, while Roland ensured magicians faced the costs of abusing power.
  • Roland asked Misaki Shokuhou to lead the Blue Dream Company and revealed that Imagine Breaker had been placed in its central computer after Kamijou Touma willingly gave it up.
  • Kamijou Touma rushed in with light gathering in his right hand, and Aleister realized he was manifesting Magnetic Field Rotation.

Ch. 569An interlude with Miss True Magic User and the Fairy Tale Witch

Aoko Aozaki returned to the mansion and told Alice Kuonji that Dead Apostle Ancestors existed in the current World Line, unlike the future she had seen. They discovered that the Holy Church had confirmed Roland, victor of the Fifth Holy Grail War, as a living saint, leaving Aoko shocked by his status.

  • Aoko Aozaki visited the Clock Tower and used her status as a True Magic User to obtain confidential information about Dead Apostle Ancestors.
  • Aoko returned to the mansion and told Alice Kuonji that Dead Apostle Ancestors existed in the current World Line.
  • Alice reminded Aoko that Roland had said he wanted to join the Holy Church, and Aoko accessed the Roland Terminal to learn more.
  • Alice concluded that the Holy Church needed to consider Roland himself as the bigger picture.
  • Aoko found a message stating that the Holy Church had formally confirmed Roland as a living saint.

Ch. 570The Living Saint, the Holy Church, and the Burial Agency

Roland traveled to a church school to receive his investiture document as a Living Saint, while Father Dawnh arrived with a trailer full of Holy Relics and weapons. After Roland unloaded the cargo with a casual gesture, Dawnh recognized the miracle associated with Roland’s right hand.

  • Roland learned that the church school was the appointed location and that an Executor of the Burial Agency had to deliver his investiture document.
  • Father Dawnh arrived early at the cleared church school with a thirty-ton trailer and began unloading its contents alone.
  • Roland used an unexplained power to unload and arrange the Holy Relics and weapons in an instant.
  • Father Dawnh realized that Roland’s right hand had performed a miracle associated with the Living Saint.

Ch. 571The Holy Church's Walks the Earth

The Holy Church recognized Roland as a living Saint after he demonstrated that he could reproduce the Church’s miracles, then appointed him its Walks the Earth with broad authority. As Roland prepared to involve himself in the Burial Agency, Priest Dawn realized that Roland intended to reform its dangerous Unifier, Narbareck.

  • Saint Jeanne d'Arc confirmed that she had descended at the Lord's revelation to follow Roland, prompting the Holy Church to summon him to the Vatican for an emergency council.
  • Roland demonstrated miracles before the Pope, Cardinals, and Executors, convincing the council to recognize him as a living Saint and grant him the right to act at his discretion.
  • The Holy Church appointed Priest Dawn as Roland's emissary and gave Roland the title of the Holy Church's Walks the Earth, placing clergy, Executors, and the Burial Agency under his command if needed.
  • Roland told Priest Dawn that Narbareck had previously invited him to take the Burial Agency's eighth seat and asked Dawn to send her his regards and keep the position open.
  • Roland declared that he intended to guide Narbareck, and Priest Dawn feared what the Saint's intervention would mean for the Burial Agency's Unifier.

Ch. 572A few things about entering and leaving the Root

Roland watched Priest Dawnh leave, then recalled how the Church and Mage's Association concealed supernatural disasters from the public. While Roland was with Shiki Ryougi, Root Shiki took control of her body and revealed that she had come to discuss Roland's connection to the Root.

  • Priest Dawnh drove away in the tow truck after acknowledging Roland.
  • Roland reflected on how the Church and Mage's Association hid disasters and prevented Mystery from spreading.
  • Roland recalled persuading Shiki Ryougi to skip her morning practice and spend time with him.
  • Root Shiki took control of Shiki Ryougi's body and told Roland that she had information to convey personally.
  • Root Shiki let Shiki Ryougi share her sensations and urged Roland to focus on their encounter, calling it what he had longed for: entering and leaving the Root.

Ch. 573The mysteries of Stands and the Counter Force

Roland discussed his need for a path beyond his perfect multiversal power with {Shiki}, who explained that his past use of Made in Heaven had already brought him into contact with a greater rule. They identified the beings that governed infinite parallel worlds as incomplete {Star Spirits}.

  • Roland admired the Ryougi Family's heritage before joining {Shiki} in the bath, where she warned that their intimacy could bring Mana's birth forward.
  • Roland admitted that his balanced multiversal power left him short of a path toward higher realms and asked {Shiki} for guidance.
  • {Shiki} told Roland that the shortest shortcut was a detour and pointed to the power he had gained by devouring Mara as proof he had already touched a higher principle.
  • Roland connected Stands and Made in Heaven's New World to rules extending beyond a single universe and recognized that he had already encountered such a rule.
  • Roland proposed that beings able to regard themselves across infinite parallel worlds were the Counter Force, and {Shiki Ryougi} identified them as incomplete {Star Spirits}.

Ch. 574So this is the Type-Moon weightlifting champion! (Laughs)

Roland learned from {Shiki} why Gaia and Alaya had failed to mature into Star Spirits: they had emerged alongside humanity and became locked in a struggle for survival. {Shiki} explained that Roland could reshape Type-Moon’s relationship between its main timeline and parallel worlds because he was an outsider whose origins and powers were bound to the setting, leaving him as the pillar supporting its future growth.

  • Roland questioned whether Gaia and Alaya qualified as Star Spirits, and {Shiki} explained that the Root stood above the many worlds branching from it.
  • {Shiki} explained that Gaia and Alaya had emerged before either matured, then fought over the survival of the planet and humanity until their possible futures became trapped in destructive cycles.
  • Roland asked whether Type-Moon’s base world could be distinguished from its parallel worlds, and {Shiki} said his position as an outsider allowed him to do what the Root would not.
  • {Shiki} pointed out that Roland had rebooted the timeline around Aoko Aozaki’s arrival as a True Magic User, joining events from different eras without disrupting the world’s continuity.
  • {Shiki} told Roland that he was supporting Type-Moon and forcing the ceiling of its world ever higher.

Ch. 575Fate and Tsukihime

{Shiki} explained that Roland’s influence had created a World Line where Type-Moon could combine possibilities from both Fate and Tsukihime, setting him up to become its ultimate endpoint. Roland realized that the key divergence was the Fate–Tsukihime split, while {Shiki Ryougi} hinted that she had quietly prepared something for him.

  • {Shiki} explained that Roland’s past actions and the people he influenced had created a new World Line with vast potential for humanity.
  • {Shiki Ryougi} told Roland that Type-Moon was expanding its possibilities and resetting World Lines to draw people and events toward him.
  • Roland recognized that the crucial branching point was the divergence between the Fate and Tsukihime worlds.
  • Roland discovered that the World Line he occupied contained both the Twenty-Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors and the possibilities of Fate, giving Crimson Moon stronger potential futures.
  • {Shiki Ryougi} denied deliberately interfering but admitted she had stirred a small breeze, adding that she would not let the Counter Forces or Crimson Moon face an absolutely hopeless fate.

Ch. 576Fou!

Roland spent time with {Shiki Ryougi}, who explained that the forces surrounding him would eventually be drawn into the timeline centered on him. Following Church records on the Dead Apostle Ancestors, Roland encountered Cath Palug, who led him to a church and a mysterious black-haired girl.

  • {Shiki Ryougi} offered to grant Roland a wish, and he chose to spend their remaining time together intimately.
  • {Shiki Ryougi} warned Roland that the Dead Apostle Ancestors, the Mage's Association, True Magic Users, and the Counter Force would eventually be swept into the timeline centered on him.
  • After joining the Burial Agency, Roland received information about the Twenty-Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors from Narbareck and set out to follow the clues.
  • Roland encountered Fou on a deserted mountain path and recognized him as Cath Palug, Beast IV, who had never entered the FGO World Line.
  • Cath Palug led Roland to a nearby church, where Roland saw a girl with long black hair and deep ruby eyes.

Ch. 577The Black Vampire Princess

Roland encountered Altrouge Brunestud, the Black Princess, outside a church and learned that she had destroyed a priest who tried to become a Dead Apostle. After Altrouge ordered Fou to kill him, Roland remained facing the threat.

  • Fou led Roland to a church, where he met a girl who identified herself as Altrouge Brunestud.
  • Roland recognized Altrouge as the Black Princess, a powerful Dead Apostle Ancestor, without showing alarm.
  • The church doors opened to reveal ghouls and the remains of the priest and his followers.
  • Altrouge explained that the priest had tried to transform himself with hidden Dead Apostle flesh, then begged her for power, so she killed him and his servants.
  • Altrouge threatened Roland for recognizing her, but he said he was still serving the Holy Church and declined to kneel.
  • Altrouge ordered Fou to kill Roland.

Ch. 578White Fou's spinning charge!

Roland faced Cath Palug, the White Beast and first Dead Apostle Ancestor, while Altrouge Brunestud watched. Roland’s power left Cath Palug helpless, and the chapter ended with him hurling the transformed beast through the battlefield in a spinning charge.

  • Cath Palug charged Roland, but his attack became stuck in Roland’s chest without injuring him.
  • Roland explained that Cath Palug’s Primate Murder Authority had worked, but its power was too limited to threaten him.
  • Altrouge Brunestud moved to safety as Cath Palug transformed into a giant white wolf and unleashed his full power.
  • Roland seized Cath Palug, discovered the White Beast was female, and swung her around.
  • Altrouge Brunestud dodged as Cath Palug shot past her through the dust, and Roland shouted, “White Fou’s spinning charge!”

Ch. 579[Pale Rider]

Roland defeated Cath Palug and revealed that he was a Living Saint tasked with collecting Dead Apostle Ancestors. Altrouge accepted his challenge to face one of his servants, and Roland summoned a being amid shadows and apocalyptic words.

  • Roland emerged unharmed after hurling Cath Palug into a cross, and Cath Palug identified him as either a god in human flesh or a god who believed himself human.
  • Altrouge recognized Roland as a Living Saint and offered to help him in exchange for sparing her.
  • When Roland said his mission was to collect Dead Apostle Ancestors, Cath Palug attacked, but Roland subdued him and reduced him to his small, harmless form.
  • Altrouge prepared to fight, but Roland offered to let her go if she could defeat or escape one of his servants.
  • Altrouge accepted the challenge, and Roland summoned dark shadows accompanied by words describing death, the underworld, judgment, and suffering.

Ch. 580People die when they are killed

Roland summoned the Pale Knight, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and sent it after Altrouge Brunestud. As the Pale Knight trapped her in an Underworld-like domain, Altrouge realized that her speed and immortality offered no escape from its power.

  • Altrouge Brunestud recognized the black shadow beside Roland as the Pale Knight, the manifestation of death, and demanded to know why it was his servant.
  • Roland explained that he had called for a Horseman without choosing which one, then told Altrouge to run before ordering the Pale Knight to kill her.
  • Altrouge transformed into her mature form and fled into the forest, but the Pale Knight rode the wind and quickly intercepted her.
  • Altrouge discovered that the Pale Knight had infected the forest's animals and was spreading a dark domain around them.
  • The Pale Knight's domain became an Underworld where the dead could return and ordinary means of survival could not prevent death, leaving Altrouge facing its attack.

Ch. 581Fou cannonball!

Altrouge Brunestud fought the Pale Knight in its Netherworld and discovered that neither its body nor its power could be destroyed or unraveled. Nearing a berserk state and running out of life energy, she fled back to Roland and launched Fou toward the Pale Knight.

  • Altrouge Brunestud attacked the Pale Knight, which unleashed its death-filled Noble Phantasm and reduced her body to fragments.
  • Altrouge regenerated and tried to counter the Pale Knight with blood mist, but it absorbed her power and remained unharmed.
  • Altrouge realized that she was running out of life energy and risked losing control, so she charged through the forest toward the mountain boundary.
  • Roland watched through his familiar as Altrouge burst through the dust, grabbed Fou, and hurled him at the Pale Knight.
  • Roland blinked in confusion as Altrouge appeared to have been in his arms all along.

Ch. 582Sign a contract with me and become my familiar!

Altrouge Brunestud sought a way to survive the Pale Knight’s attack by turning to Roland, who refused to disrupt their one-on-one duel. She bit Roland and pumped her own blood into him, demanding that he sign a contract and become her familiar.

  • Altrouge Brunestud grabbed Fou and moved into Roland’s arms, briefly confusing the Pale Knight and Roland.
  • Roland stroked Altrouge Brunestud’s stocking-clad legs while warning her that the Pale Knight would resume his attack and that he would not interfere if she changed the duel.
  • Altrouge Brunestud ignored Roland’s touch, embraced him, and pressed close as the Pale Knight swept toward them.
  • Altrouge Brunestud bit Roland’s neck and sent her blood into his body instead of drinking his blood.
  • Altrouge Brunestud demanded that Roland sign a contract and become her familiar.

Ch. 583The Black Princess's brilliant plan to bring peace to the world

Altrouge used her Ruler of Blood and Contracts Authority to make Roland her dependent, pouring nearly all her power into him. After the Contract was completed, she claimed she could still resist his commands, but Roland’s gaze made her notice she had already loosened her gown.

  • Altrouge realized Roland’s body could be touched but was protected from attacks, and devised a way to bind him by turning the exchange of blood into a Contract.
  • Altrouge gave Roland nearly all her blood, weakening and shrinking herself until the Pale Knight stopped attacking her.
  • Roland interrupted Altrouge’s attempt to complete the Contract by kissing her, then let her drink his blood and heal her injured teeth.
  • Altrouge indulged in Roland’s blood long after the Contract was complete, and Roland eventually set her down.
  • Altrouge explained that the completed Contract gave her room to resist Roland’s commands, then noticed that she had undone part of her gown.
