Honk! Honk!!
On a street in Beika Town's fourth block, pedestrians hurried past.
At a street corner, several housewives with children whispered among themselves as they looked toward the crosswalk.
"Was there an accident?"
"It looks like the person lying there suddenly ran a red light and got hit."
"Poor driver. Why did that girl have to run the light?"
"Oh, the patrol officers are here. Looks like there's a show to watch."
In the driver's seat, Luo Shu silently opened the compartment beside the armrest and took out his credentials, along with a piece of candy that he popped into his mouth.
Kisara had insisted on stuffing the candy in before he left, saying he could have some sugar to perk himself up if he felt tired while driving.
Luo Shu didn't know whether it would perk him up, but eating candy had certainly helped settle his nerves.
"This woman... is she looking for trouble?"
Luo Shu looked at the green-haired woman playing dead on the ground, his mouth twitching.
Just then, a knocking sounded at the door.
The street patrol officer had arrived.
Luo Shu turned toward the policewoman outside his window, who was holding up her police identification, sighed, and lowered-
"Hello, please show me your driver's license."
Luo Shu glanced at the policewoman's identification. Seeing the familiar name Yumi Miyamoto and the rank of assistant inspector, he gave her another look.
Oh, right, this is Beika Town...
With that thought, Luo Shu naturally understood that he had encountered a familiar character.
He wasn't particularly excited, though. He pressed the window controls, and as the window lowered, he handed over both his driver's license and police identification.
The policewoman paused, took both documents, and, after confirming they were genuine, immediately saluted.
"My apologies, Superintendent Luo."
