Apart from Amitabha Great Emperor's Divine Self, eleven Supremes had stepped onto the Road to Immortality.
Five had now fallen-the very Great Emperors and Supremes who had declared that they would leave a method of attaining immortality for future generations, sparing neither their lives nor their blood to test the path.
Before dying, they had imprinted their insights from the Road to Immortality upon the universe, passing them on to those who came after.
Almost all the remaining Supremes were principal instigators of the Dark Turmoil. They had once washed various realms in blood, or were mysterious, ancient Heavenly Venerables from the Mythological Era.
Apart from Longevity Heavenly Venerable, the other five surviving Supremes stood on the Road to Immortality. None yet showed signs of Dao Dissolution; all struggled desperately to hold on, unwilling to fall.
"The greatest upheaval in all eternity isn't over yet? These Supremes..." an ancient Great Sage said in horror, then abruptly fell silent.
"Go! Leave this place!" A Quasi-Emperor felt his hair stand on end. He immediately tore open the universe and vanished in an instant.
At that moment, all the cultivators began to move. The inexplicable premonition they had felt earlier surfaced again. They kept feeling that heaven and earth were about to undergo a tremendous change, and this place in particular sent chills through them.
"Longevity Heavenly Venerable! Sinner of the Heavenly Court, your end has come!" A furious roar shook heaven and earth.
Beyond the star, an ancient, unadorned cauldron flew over from the distant depths of the universe, mottled with rust and covered in green copper patina.
This greater half of a cauldron had been pieced together entirely from fragments, with holes everywhere. Even so, its might remained peerless and unstoppable!
