The thug began divining.
The first divination failed. Since Klein had severed the mystical connection, the divination boost provided by Sefirah Castle's aura rapidly dwindled. The thug knew nothing of this and only knew to keep following the instructions in his head.
Suddenly, silver-white lightning poured down like a waterfall on this spot, separated from the palace district by only a road. In an instant, it tore the thug apart and destroyed the entire expensive neighborhood, where only established nobles of distinguished status and close ties to the royal family were qualified to live.

Lightning scoured the earth. Gas pipes and other facilities exploded one after another. The violent tremors and unceasing explosions made the people sheltering in churches and underground bunkers scream in terror.
"Is this place going to collapse?!"
"Calm down! Calm down! Don't shove!!"
After a burst of crying and anxious voices, people instinctively began crowding toward the bunker's entrance, seemingly preferring to flee aboveground rather than be buried underground. The disturbance did not last long, however. Although there were no High-Sequence Beyonders in the bunker, several Mid-Sequence Beyonders assigned by the churches were maintaining order and serving as bodyguards. The Church of Evernight's Beyonders quickly imbued their voices with magic that soothed people's hearts. Under their influence, the crowd gradually calmed down, until it was quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
"Everyone, at this dangerous moment, we need to remain calm more than ever."
The Church of Evernight's deacon brought over a wooden crate and stood on it, naturally assuming the role of a bishop. He spread his arms with a compassionate expression, his voice rich and pleasing:
"We must not let fear cow our hearts. We must not lose ourselves amid catastrophe."
