Seeing Wenna-s so visibly unsettled, Chen Ping could not help feeling a little uneasy.
It was not that he feared Wenna-s might cry herself into trouble. Rather, he worried that his few words had untied the obsession the God of Love had harbored for over ten thousand years-would she dissolve into nothingness right here on the spot?
As far as he knew, many spirit bodies could persist only because of that lingering obsession, that one unfinished task. Once their long-held wish was fulfilled, the time came for them to dissolve back into heaven and earth.
That was precisely how so-called earthbound spirits and vengeful spirits worked.
Fortunately, the God of Love was, after all, a genuine First-Level God, and one who had survived since the Dragon God's era. Even with the obsession she carried almost entirely dispelled, she could continue to exist as divine sense.
"Um, Goddess Wenna-s, do you still want those teardrops at your feet?"
As her sobbing gradually quieted, Chen Ping glanced at the platform covered in teardrops glowing faintly gold and spoke.
He had watched with his own eyes as Wenna-s's divine sense went from solid to transparent, shrinking from three meters tall to just over one meter seventy. The greatest change in all this seemed to lie in the Tears of the Gods she had shed while sobbing.
Even though Chen Ping did not yet know what such a supreme treasure could do, once his talent for Pluck Every Feather as the Goose Flies Over kicked in, he immediately set his sights on it.
Chen Ping could not speak for anything else, but there was at least one thing he could be certain of: these Tears of the Gods she had left behind were definitely more valuable than the thirty cubic meters of lake water
