Background / History

Bei Bei is Mu En’s great-great-grandson and a prominent Shrek Academy Outer Court student. He and Xu Sanshi are known as the Outer Court Twin Stars, while his relationship with Tang Ya is also well known at the academy 4 19.

Hunting Tang Ya’s Third Soul Ring

Bei Bei accompanied Tang Ya to the Venomous Insect Woodland in search of her third Soul Ring. Outside the Great Centipede Cave, they were pursued by Touch Dragons and confronted by a Greater Touch Dragon King with just over a thousand years of cultivation. Its armor resisted Bei Bei’s lightning attacks, and Tang Ya could not overturn it with Blue Silver Grass alone 12 13 16.

When the beast charged at Chen Ping, Bei Bei used Martial Soul Possession and Thunderous Might to intervene. Chen Ping then leveraged the creature off balance with his staff, allowing Tang Ya to flip it over. Bei Bei struck its exposed abdomen with a Thunder Dragon Claw enhanced by Dragon Transformation and Thunderous Fury, then continued discharging electricity into its body. He stopped before killing it so Tang Ya could deliver the finishing blow and claim its Soul Ring 17 18.

Helping Chen Ping Reach Shrek

After the battle, Bei Bei introduced himself and Tang Ya to Chen Ping. When Tang Ya reacted thoughtlessly to learning that Chen Ping had lost his family, Bei Bei reprimanded her, apologized, and dropped the recruitment discussion. He offered medicine for Chen Ping’s facial wound and proposed guarding the two while they absorbed their Soul Rings in turn 19.

Bei Bei and Tang Ya drove away nearby Soul Beasts during Chen Ping’s absorption. Afterward, Bei Bei agreed to help him find Wang Yan, recognizing both his difficult circumstances and his contribution to their successful hunt. He also examined Chen Ping’s new poison skill, spotted the glimmer of a Soul Bone in the Lesser Touch Dragon King’s remains, and witnessed the bone’s absorption into Chen Ping’s Martial Soul 20 21 22 23 24.

Bei Bei and Tang Ya brought Chen Ping into Shrek Academy under the cover identity of Bei Bei’s younger paternal cousin. Bei Bei guided him through the grounds and helped locate Wang Yan in the library. During their subsequent meal, he and Tang Ya recounted Chen Ping’s hunt and Martial Soul Evolution to the teacher 27 28 29 30.

Later Academy Activities

Bei Bei referred Ning Tian and Wu Feng to Chen Ping to order Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. His connection to both parties helped motivate Chen Ping to settle their later misunderstanding rather than escalate it 44.

At the start of the new term, Bei Bei welcomed incoming students with Tang Ya to earn personal development credits. He explained that he had spent his spare time over the preceding two years visiting the Soul Fighting arena with Xu Sanshi and had neglected that category of credits 47.

Appearance

• Academy uniform: Wears the yellow uniform used by second- and third-year Shrek students 47.
• Martial Soul Possession: A blue lightning mark appears on his forehead, with blue-violet electricity winding around his body 17.
• Transformed right arm: Enlarges and lengthens by more than half a foot, develops blue-violet scales, and ends in a dragon claw. His three Soul Rings circle this arm rather than his whole body 17.
• Thunderous Fury: Further enlarges his transformed arm and gives his eyes a deathly white glow as lightning branches through the surrounding air 18.

Personality

Bei Bei is protective and attentive to others’ dignity. He intervenes when the Greater Touch Dragon King threatens Chen Ping, apologizes promptly for Tang Ya’s insensitive remark, and recognizes that pressing recruitment afterward would be disrespectful. His practical response—medicine and protection during Soul Ring absorption—restores the strained atmosphere 17 19.

He is affectionate toward Tang Ya and reluctant to disappoint her, agreeing to continue the difficult hunt despite doubting that his attacks can penetrate the beast’s shell. He also has an easily embarrassed side: after Tang Ya catches him staring at her exposed navel, he hurriedly redirects the conversation to Chen Ping’s Martial Soul Evolution 13 25 26.

His friendliness does not exclude calculation. Helping Chen Ping meet Wang Yan lets him repay a favor; if that route fails, he considers asking again whether Chen Ping would join the Tang Sect 21.

Second Soul Skill: Thunderous Might

Releases serpentine lightning that expands into arrows and forms a dense electrical net 17.

• Strikes the charging Greater Touch Dragon King but initially causes little more than a stumble 17.
• Can be discharged continuously through his claw; Bei Bei uses it inside the beast’s abdominal cavity to weaken it for Tang Ya’s finishing attack 18.

Third Soul Skill: Thunderous Fury

Amplifies his soul-power attacks and lightning attribute 13 18.

• Increases the effectiveness of soul-power attacks by over fifty percent and multiplies their lightning attribute severalfold 13.
