"No more movement?"
Outside the Heavenly Towers where the bronze incense burner stood, Yu Xi watched the heavens close and the Sacred Academy fall silent. She had expected an even grander phenomenon to unfold, but instead, it was far too quiet.
Traces of Heaven were exceedingly rare in the world, a substance as precious as the various immortal metals. Logically, when a living being "replenished" them, they were bound to face the "interrogation" of heaven and earth.
After all, this was something used to open the heavens. "Demanding" it like this was tantamount to "stealing." How could the order of heaven and earth permit it?
"Could the order of heaven and earth believe that 'interrogation' would be useless, and so turn a blind eye?" Yu Xi pondered. To her, perhaps this was the only possibility.
But the more she thought along these lines, the more she felt she had become entangled in an immense web of karma, unable to extricate herself.
For even the order of heaven and earth deemed "interrogation" useless and sent down no heavenly tribulation. What did that imply?
Granted, this Epoch was somewhat unusual, and ordinary living beings did not provoke heavenly tribulations to "temper" and "interrogate" them when they broke through to a new realm.
But could that man be an ordinary living being?
Even in the present environment, an existence like him could not avoid being struck by heavenly tribulation, whether he attained eternal life as an Immortal or transcended to become a king.
"Boom!"
Yet just then, as Yu Xi was thinking that even heavenly tribulation would "weaken before the strong" and display the human trait of "fear," an inexplicable fluctuation suddenly spread through the void of the Ancient Sacred Academy.
That fluctuation was like ripples, like a blood-reeking wind, utterly eerie and
