"Darkness?"
At Di Yi's words, all three beings on the Sacrificial Altar froze.
"It feels very familiar, as though we once encountered it. It has something to do with the minor reckoning that brought about our downfall." The crystal skull pondered. Although he had few memories left, his lingering obsession remained, and the stimulus seemed to have stirred some vague recollection.
"Just as I thought." Di Yi nodded. What they had said earlier might well be true: becoming involved with an emperor would bring inexplicable karma, and now it had come to pass.
Of course, its concrete manifestation was not necessarily as simple as a change of name. He feared that his appearance had also caused their trajectories to change at some point.
"Emperor, is this change in us a good thing?" The blood-colored eyeball was somewhat uneasy. As an Immortal King, he should never have entertained such thoughts, but what he had encountered today had already surpassed a king's imagination. Even he felt apprehensive.
"There is good and bad, I suppose, but ultimately, it is better than your present circumstances. Your fate has changed, and a day will come when you regain the glory of undying life." Di Yi gestured for them not to worry. Such a change meant that they had already leaped free of the predetermined river of time and gained a new path ahead. It could be called a hundred benefits for a single harm.
"A hundred benefits for a single harm?" The yellow hand bone was visibly delighted to hear of the hundred benefits, but the mention of a single harm instantly made him nervous. "Emperor, may I ask what you mean by that single harm?"
In his view, anything an emperor could call harmful was bound to have negative consequences greater than the heavens.
