In the Big Dipper Ancient Star Domain, upon the lands of the Eastern Wasteland, stood an ancient, forbidding mountain range. Its entirety was as black as ink, and its stone walls seemed to contain some extraordinary power that kept outsiders from approaching.
Yet such an immense mountain range should have teemed with life, all things flourishing in competition. Instead, it lay deathly silent. Even from outside, not the slightest trace of vitality could be seen-a truly unimaginable sight.
Not only that, but within three hundred li of the entire mountain range, living creatures had vanished, and no human tracks remained. It was not difficult to imagine the root of all this: some great terror within the mountains threatened every living being, and over time, this scene had taken shape.
But to the inhabitants of the Southern Region of Big Dipper's Eastern Wasteland, such a sight had long since become commonplace.
This was one of the Life Forbidden Zones of the Eastern Wasteland, the most exceptional place in all of Big Dipper, and one of the sacred grounds most revered and worshipped by Big Dipper's myriad races.
Undying Mountain.
Undying Mountain could be called one of Big Dipper's greatest mysteries. Countless legends about it circulated throughout Big Dipper, making it the most unusual of its many Life Forbidden Zones. For a long stretch of time, people had often spoken of it with relish.
According to legend, Undying Mountain had not originally been a Forbidden Zone on Big Dipper. Indeed, it had never appeared anywhere in the universe before. Then, a hundred thousand years ago, on the eve of the Dharma-ending age, Undying Mountain descended from the heavens. From that day onward, it stood in the Southern Region of the Eastern Wasteland, becoming a Forbidden Zone that absolutely no one dared offend.
