There stood a Weezing and an Electabuzz.
They were... the Pokémon duo who had advanced with a high score in the previous round of the Cooking Challenge.
The competition had a thirty-minute time limit, but Weezing and Electabuzz had taken only twenty-five minutes to produce several large servings of barbecue and Fried Chicken Cutlet.
Grilling food and frying chicken cutlets might not sound like much work, but the Cooking Challenge required contestants to start with preparing the accompaniments, along with selecting ingredients, slicing, briefly marinating, and skewering. Only then could they grill the food over a flame or deep-fry it in oil.
Twenty-five minutes really was incredibly fast.
They worked deftly, with Weezing controlling the heat and Electabuzz handling the cooking. As the food went onto the grill, Electabuzz could also use Electric-type energy to give it a crispy outer layer, as though it had been lightly fried.
Barbecue and Fried Chicken Cutlet were two kings of street food, fitting Food Street's theme. Taking Weezing and Electabuzz's execution into account as well, they thoroughly deserved their first-round victory.
