Druddigon was truly stable, watching beside the bed in perfect health as Dewott's energy fluctuated abnormally.
Dewott showed signs of turning into energy. Such sudden fluctuations made it seem as though he was about to evolve.
Most Pokémon evolved very straightforwardly. From start to finish, it took a minute or two at the quickest, around half an hour at the slowest, and an hour at most.
Only a few Pokémon needed to go dormant or pass through other stages to accumulate energy for evolution.
But Dewott had started feeling unwell last night, with abnormal energy fluctuations.
Lisia had initially thought it was the cold weather combined with exhaustion, as well as Dewott having genuinely been frightened.
He lived on the People of the Sea of Origin's large estate and had never faced much danger. What his Trainer had encountered yesterday could have killed her with the slightest misstep, and that had frightened Dewott.
Now that it was over, Dewott should have gradually settled down.
Some Pokémon had their potential triggered and evolved when their Trainers were threatened. But whether the evolution succeeded or not, it should not have dragged on for this long.
Shen Qi sensed Dewott's Water-type energy. It really was extremely abnormal.
"It seems like something is interfering with it."
"It's Dark-type energy." Lisia paced anxiously. "I don't know why, but a portion of Dark-type energy is rapidly emerging inside Dewott. His evolutionary line shouldn't have much Dark-type aptitude."
Dark was a type outside Shen Qi's sensory abilities.
Dark- and Water-type fluctuations were appearing in Dewott.
