Huo Yuhao was somewhat surprised. Suspecting he had seen wrong, he took another careful look to make sure.
The person who had just brushed past him was indeed Tang Ya, the young sect master of the Tang Sect.
But wasn't she supposed to be at Shrek Academy right now?
Huo Yuhao called out tentatively, "Sister Xiao Ya?"
Hearing someone call her name, Tang Ya trembled and turned her head in a daze. "Junior Yuhao?"
Tang Ya did not look well. As she walked down the street, her expression had been blank and distracted, as though her mind were elsewhere. She had not even noticed Huo Yuhao passing right beside her. Now that she had come to her senses, a trace of delight appeared on her face.
"Brother Huo, is that really you?"
Huo Yuhao nodded. "It's me, Sister Xiao Ya. What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at Shrek Academy?"
Tang Ya shrugged. "Ah, there was nothing I could do. I didn't pass the academy's assessment, so this sect master had no choice but to obediently withdraw."
"Heaven Dou City is my hometown. Where else could I go?"
With that, Tang Ya gave a helpless smile.
"Even you didn't pass the academy's assessment?" Huo Yuhao was a little surprised. "Does Brother Bei Bei know?"
He seemed to remember seeing Bei Bei and Tang Ya together before the Soul Fighting Tournament. The tournament had only just ended, so did that mean Tang Ya had withdrawn during it?
Tang Ya paused, then smiled. "Of course Bei Bei knows. He even teased me about it for ages. Anyway, Brother Huo, why are you here?"
Huo Yuhao thought for a moment, then replied, "Same as you. I withdrew too."
