"Junior Yuhao, you just made Wang Shaojie lose face. He'll definitely try to settle the score later," Ju Zi reminded him with concern.

"Mm, thank you for the warning, senior," Huo Yuhao replied.

Ju Zi scratched her head, gave him an adorably vacant smile, and asked, "Um... do you have any more grilled fish?"

"I do. Why?" Huo Yuhao asked.

"I... I'm still not full." Ju Zi swallowed. "Could you give me some more? I can trade you more oranges."

As she spoke, several round oranges appeared in her hands. She offered them to Huo Yuhao, her eyes full of eagerness.

"Sure." Huo Yuhao smiled, accepted the oranges, and took several more skewers of grilled fish from his belt.

"Thank you." Ju Zi's eyes sparkled as she took the grilled fish and began savoring it.

"How can you pull out so much grilled fish whenever you want? Could grilled fish be your martial soul? Just like mine is an orange," Ju Zi said excitedly between bites.

"I just grilled it ahead of time," Huo Yuhao answered casually.

"Did you grill all of this yourself?"

"Of course."

He glanced at Ju Zi. That mournful look had returned to her eyes as she ate, but this time she kept her emotions under control. Her eyes only reddened slightly, without shedding any tears.

Noticing Huo Yuhao's gaze, Ju Zi looked back at him and gave him a gentle, sweet smile.

Huo Yuhao could not help feeling utterly exasperated.

He knew his grilled fish could win people over, but Ju Zi's reaction had taken him completely by surprise.

Still, recalling what Ju Zi had said earlier, Huo Yuhao felt melancholy fill his heart.

War had taken her parents away and left her an orphan.

There was no need to think too hard about it.
