During the day, I'd been thinking I absolutely had to write tonight, but by midnight, I'd only written a little over a thousand characters before I got unbearably sleepy. I hadn't wanted to fish for sympathy, but lately, one pile of worries had come right on the heels of another. Just last week, my boss criticized me, and all the book reviews were full of insults too. I'm thin-skinned, and I can't just brush it off the way other authors do.
Lately, I've been close to finishing my probation period at work, and every day, I still have to cook when I get home. After all that running around, I felt like every last bit of energy had been drained out of me, and whenever I had a little free time in the evening, I had to socialize. By midnight, I wasn't in the right headspace to write, so I kept putting it off, again and again. I felt like I never got enough sleep.
There'll definitely be an update tomorrow. I'll hurry up and skip through this part of the story, then move straight into the main plot...
