In the pitch-black hall, the Death Dream Hall Master pondered quietly, recalling the past.
Back then, with guidance from Lord Jin, he had broken through his innate limitations. He had also fulfilled his mission, personally destroying everything in that cycle of reincarnation.
Because Source Worlds differed, the Origin Great Daos of his Source World did not include "destruction," but did include "death."
Each cycle of reincarnation in his Source World also differed from the "Great Destruction" of most Source Worlds. Countless things instead sank into "death," forming a "death black hole" and giving rise to a "Reverse World."
This "Reverse World" was similar to the "Dream of All Living Beings" that Dongguan wanted to construct. It would drag dead beings, and even objects, into itself.
From emerging passively to actively dragging things in, the pace of "death" accelerated. Later on, lifeforms called "Death Demons" would be born.
Of course, "Death Demons" also had different ranks. Back then, the Death Dream Hall Master had been a "King of Death," an existence that naturally reached the Ultimate Realm. Because there was no destruction, only death, the Great Destruction cycles in this Source World were not thorough enough. Remnants from past cycles would bring danger in later cycles.
Danger, too, had its balance.
"For ordinary beings, these things are terribly dangerous. Yet they are also gifts from the Supreme Rule, things that cultivators from other Source Worlds yearn to explore."
The Death Dream Hall Master sensed his own Source World.
This cycle had already entered its later stages, and the Universe Gods within it had begun exploring the so-called "path to saving the world." Their efforts had not been entirely fruitless. Even experts from his own era, or earlier still, had left traces that persisted into the present age.
Like a hazy dream.
