Some law firms expressed regret when Su Bai turned them down, but everyone had their own ambitions, so they said little more.
Inside White Jun Law Firm.
Su Bai looked at the system panel.
[Legal consultations: 7/20] [Cases completed: 1/2 (Victory rating/S)]
After he won this lawsuit, the system had given him an S rating.
Not bad!
I wonder what reward the system will give me once I finish this task.
Oh well. Something is better than nothing. So far, I've handled every case on my own.
Hopefully, the system will give me a pleasant surprise after I finish this task.
Meanwhile.
In the Northern Capital.
Legal commentator Luo Daxiang was well connected in legal circles. He maintained good relationships not only with law firms, but also with the legal departments of several companies.
The Southern Capital had several first-rate law firms, and some of the leading lawyers at those major firms had studied under the same professors as him.
"How have you been lately, Luo? I've got an absolutely explosive case for you. Interested?"
Luo Daxiang looked at the chat window.
The message came from Xiao Haibo, who had been his junior in graduate school. He was now a partner at a top law firm in the Southern Capital and specialized in civil cases.
As a legal commentator, Luo Daxiang often asked friends in his social circle whether they knew of any interesting new cases he could use for his commentary.
So whenever his former classmates or friends came across a good case, they would contact him.
"What? Has another major case cropped up in the Southern Capital? The buzz around that Nandu Bank case only died down recently, didn't it?"
"It did. This one isn't really a major case. It's a marriage fraud case, primarily a matrimonial lawsuit. The plaintiff took his own wife to court for fraud and even got the defendant's lawyer locked up. The issues involved aren't all that complicated, but getting the opposing lawyer thrown in jail? That's explosive!"
"There are plenty of disputes and issues involving marital relationships. It would make excellent material for legal commentary."
"More importantly, guess which law firm handled it?"
"Which one?" Luo Daxiang was genuinely curious.
"White Jun Law Firm. Remember that Nandu Bank lawsuit you commented on, the one nobody thought they could win? White Jun Law Firm handled that one too."
"It's a sole-practitioner firm. Just one fully qualified lawyer and one intern. Tiny firm, huge results."
When he saw the name White Jun Law Firm,
Luo Daxiang thought it sounded very familiar!
That's right!
Wasn't that the law firm constantly posting little ads under my videos?
Luo Daxiang wasn't entirely sure.
He deliberately scrolled through the comments on his video account.
Five minutes ago.
"White Jun Law Firm has maintained a one hundred percent win rate since opening this year. Attorney Su Bai specializes in civil and criminal cases. Need to go to court? Choose White Jun Law Firm in the Southern Capital."
Ten minutes ago.
"White Jun Law Firm is newly open! To thank our new and returning clients, we're offering discounts of up to two percent on litigation fees."
Twenty-one minutes ago.
"If you're getting married, marry someone like Wolffy. If you're going to court, choose White Jun Law Firm in the Southern Capital. You can't go wrong!"
Twenty-eight minutes ago.
Thirty-three minutes ago.
An ad like this appeared roughly every ten or fifteen minutes.
Luo Daxiang remembered White Jun Law Firm.
Some lawyers and law firms would leave comments under his legal commentary videos or explain useful bits of everyday legal knowledge.
They did so to bring traffic to their firms or raise their own profiles.
But...
This was the first time he had ever seen someone post little ads with such dogged persistence.
Luo Daxiang suddenly remembered a public prosecution case in the Northern Capital...
Ordinary lawyers couldn't win it, while some of the top lawyers were unwilling to take it on...
This firm might be a good choice.
He just didn't know whether they would be willing to accept it.
In the women's dormitory at Nandu University of Law.
Li Xuezhen lay sprawled over the desk beneath her bunk, her body slightly suspended as she stared at her phone with a face full of worry.
She had spent the entire day posting little ads.
But not a single person had come to ask for a consultation, leaving her deeply frustrated.
Am I advertising the wrong way...?
But the copy I wrote is already amazing!
Every ad is different, and I post one every few minutes.
All this just to bring in some cases and get more courtroom experience during my internship. Do they think I have it easy?
"Sigh..."
Li Xuezhen slumped over the desk until her face was almost completely hidden.
The dormitory door creaked open.
Her sweet-looking roommate walked in and came over when she saw Li Xuezhen sprawled across the desk.
"Xuezhen... What's wrong? Is someone giving you a hard time at your internship?"
Her roommate was about five foot two, with her hair in a bun. She bent down and asked softly.
Li Xuezhen lifted her head. "Huh?"
"No, it's just that the firm hasn't been getting any cases lately."
"Even a big firm can run out of cases?"
Her roommate sounded curious.
Li Xuezhen didn't want anyone else to know she was interning at a small firm yet, so she shook her head.
"It's not that there aren't any cases. The lawyer supervising me is really good in court, but he isn't well known, so nobody comes to him for litigation."
"That's easy to fix!"
Her roommate narrowed her eyes in a sweet smile. "I heard some lawyers are really going all out these days. They recruit pretty female legal interns to livestream free legal education, get more exposure, and build their reputation."
"You could try that approach. As long as the lawyer is good in court, it should usually work!"
"Once the firm becomes better known, you'll have a steady stream of people coming to you with lawsuits."
Li Xuezhen's eyes lit right up!
Now that she mentions it, that could work!
If the firm becomes better known, won't we have cases to take on?
And doing it this way would be much more convenient than posting ads under other people's videos!
Li Xuezhen sprang to her feet and sent Su Bai a message.
"Attorney Su, I don't think commenting under short videos is very efficient. Advertising is too hard. I've thought of a better way."
Su Bai: "?"
"Here's the idea. We can raise our firm's profile by livestreaming legal education. It should work better than commenting under videos."
"My roommate told me some law firms specifically recruit young female legal interns to teach people about the law through short videos and raise the firms' profiles."
"Our firm could absolutely use that approach!"
Su Bai: "???"
Li Xuezhen was puzzled. "Attorney Su, what do those three question marks mean? I don't understand."
"Are you saying I'm not a pretty female legal intern?"
At the other end, Su Bai rubbed his brow.
What on earth is she talking about?
"If we had you teach people about the law to raise our firm's profile, do you think they'd come to listen to your explanations, or just to look at you?"
