After putting in extra hours, I finally finished the father-son showdown.
First, I wanted to let all you readers know that, for quite a long time to come, updates will probably be monthly, or weekly if I can manage it. I need a long period of rest and recovery, so there's no need to wait for updates. I'm sorry.
I've had problems with my cervical spine for a long time. Because my spinal cord is compressed, things like massage and manual therapy don't do much for me. Only needle-knife treatment could give me some relief.
It flared up again this month, and even needle-knife treatment stopped helping. I went to the hospital to get it checked out, and because I had symptoms of dizziness and vomiting, the doctor also suggested seeing a neurologist to check whether a tumor in my head was pressing on a nerve.
Because of this condition, I made several trips to the hospital this month and had multiple MRI scans.
The scans from the first two visits raised suspicions of a pituitary tumor. Then yesterday, I had a six-hormone panel and a contrast-enhanced MRI of the sellar region. The hormone levels looked broadly normal, so a pituitary tumor can probably be ruled out.
It's probably just more severe spinal cord compression causing the dizziness. Once I get the scans on Saturday, I'll go back and have them checked again. That's a relief, at least.
In short, between my health and the time constraints of writing on the side, updates to this book will be on an as-and-when basis for quite a long time.
Right now, it feels like having a hangover and being seasick at the same time. Even the world looks unreal, as though a layer of fog has settled over my eyes.
