Within the Police Force core management, the offices of Number One and the three Deputy Commissioners were all on the top floor of the Police Headquarters Building.
The other Senior Assistant Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners actually worked in their respective departments.
These included important departments such as Tai Kwun, as well as the Districts below them.
But they also each had an office on the top floor of the building.
With a Police Force core management meeting about to begin, all its senior figures had naturally returned to their offices on the top floor of the Police Headquarters Building.
The dozen or so members of the Hong Kong Island Police Force's highest management emerged from their offices one after another, entering the main Conference Room in twos and threes, chatting and laughing.
Once everyone was in place, Number One, Wong Bing Yiu, walked in with a folder tucked under his arm and his potbelly thrust out.
"Sir!"
Led by Zhou Quan, Tsang Yuk-ming, and Choi Yuen-kei, the Senior Assistant Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners rose to greet him.
"Take your seats!"
Wong Bing Yiu raised a hand and pressed it downward, then walked to the far end of the Conference Room and sat at the head of the table.
"I've called you all here today mainly to discuss one matter."
Opening his folder, Wong Bing Yiu dispensed with further pleasantries and went straight to the subject of the meeting.
