Luo Xin stood atop the great hall's lofty steps, watching the royal princes and Thorough Marquises leave the palace one after another. Luo Yi walked up beside him and said softly, "A Xin."
Luo Xin bowed slightly. "Elder Brother?"
But Luo Yi did not linger. He walked straight ahead, leaving only a single remark behind. "A Xin, you are not the Late Emperor. You must be more careful in what you do. An outsider cannot come between kin."
Luo Xin froze at his words, only to see that Third Brother had already descended the steps. He shook his head helplessly, never having expected a day when Third Brother would worry about him.
Lü Zhi walked up beside him. As they watched the figures heading out of the palace, she suddenly smiled and asked, "Young Master, do you think these Lords King will pay their taxes on time?"
Luo Xin put aside his tangled thoughts and smiled. "E Xu, they will, at least while we are alive.
"And not just these Lords King. The Thorough Marquises will do the same. The Southern and Northern Armies are in our hands. No one beneath heaven is our match."
When the two arrived at the Rear Hall, Liu Ying was tending to the baby with Princess Lu Yuan, Liu Le, and Empress Zhang Yan.
Somewhat excited, Liu Ying said to Lü Zhi and Luo Xin, "Mother, Chancellor, this child will be Great Han's Crown Prince. What name should we give him to express my love and hopes for him?"
Luo Xin smiled. "Do Your Majesty and the Empress have any thoughts?"
Liu Ying said, "There are simply too many characters with auspicious meanings. I truly do not know which to choose. Besides, Mother is his elder, so she should be the one to choose."
