The operations manager just spoke with me and said some readers felt the story had too much filler.
This is a thread for us to communicate.
First, which parts of this volume felt like filler?
Which chapter, which paragraph was unnecessary? You guys can point them out, and I'll make changes going forward.
Second, what would keep the writing from feeling like filler? I've planned 1-1.5 million Chinese characters for my Three States arc, and it's gradually unfolding now.
From the classical Chinese passage at the end of this volume, you should be able to see that I put a lot of thought into writing an invincible God of War. The response has been very good, with loads of chapter comments and lots of jokes and references in every chapter. It's supposedly about fighting battles, but I actually haven't written many war scenes; it's mainly about interactions between characters and characterization.
You can point out which parts of this didn't need to be written.
Third, there's really nothing wrong with calling it filler. Although I don't read the comments, the operations manager does and passes the feedback on to me. When you call something filler, I hope you'll mark the relevant content for me and show me whether any of it didn't need to be written.
I'll read the comments on this thread.
