Watching Jia Xu being led away, Luo Zhang smiled faintly and raised his right hand, a strand of hair pinched between his thumb and forefinger.
With a thought, the divine artifact, the Book of Man, appeared in his hand. Gazing at its brilliant radiance, Luo Zhang drew on a little of his clan's accumulated reserves, then released the strand. It drifted gently down like a fallen leaf and landed on the Book of Man.
The strand dissolved directly into the Book of Man as though drowning, and Luo Zhang recalled the information he knew about Jia Xu.

Black, white, and gray filled the entire quiet room. The light soon receded, and Luo Zhang saw the ribbon binding the scroll tightly come undone on its own.
He slowly unrolled it. On the left was a somewhat sinister figure who resembled Jia Xu yet was also quite different. He wore a rather tall scholar's cap and held a feather fan that covered most of his face, leaving only a pair of somewhat narrow eyes exposed.
The portrait was remarkably lifelike. One glance was enough to tell that this was an extraordinarily intelligent man. From the information conveyed to him, Luo Zhang learned that the portrait did not depict a person's actual appearance, but reflected their inner self.
To the right of the portrait was densely packed text describing Jia Xu.
