Two hours later, the lively bonfire party, tinged with the smell of smoke, came to an end.
Those who needed rest rested, and those who needed sleep slept. Just as one hoped for in life, peaks and glory could never be the norm. Genuine happiness and good health were the most precious things.
Zhang Ming returned to his room, sat in a chair, and let out a soft breath.
He casually picked up a Rune Blade he had forged in the past and toyed with it.
A quiet sense of security filled his heart.
This satisfaction came from his companions' steady progress. Even if he did nothing, they could already take care of most things.
To put it plainly, it came from... coasting?
Being able to coast and slack off really did feel wonderful.
[You're in quite a good mood!]
"Yes. Everyone's grown quite a bit over all these years. How many years did the Unreality Disorder last again..." Zhang Ming counted on his fingers. "A full thirteen years!"
"I always used to think that without me, they wouldn't live well, that they'd all go their separate ways. But that wasn't actually the case."
"They even captured a 'World Hunter' and found this strange world."
Something else occurred to Zhang Ming. He stood up, went over to the World Little Tree, and saw the "leaf" that represented "Brother Hao."
The little tree had two tiny leaves in total, giving off specks of light, as though welcoming Zhang Ming.
There really wasn't much to say. Brother Hao hadn't belonged to a long-lived species. The cycle of life and death was the natural order of the world, and living for over a hundred years was already a very good outcome.
Zhang Ming wouldn't have wanted Brother Hao to become a mutated monster
