The Fearsome Evil Beast's enormous head emerged completely, as large as a gigantic island. Opening its ghastly maw, it let out a furious roar, sending waves surging skyward.
"What powerful sound waves."
Although the Crimson Wind was an emperor-class warship, capable of withstanding attacks from a low-level War Emperor, and even a mid-level War Emperor would be unable to break its defensive shield in a short time, the sound waves unleashed by the Fearsome Evil Beast still shook the Crimson Wind violently. Its pale red defensive shield twisted and warped continuously, letting out teeth-grinding creaks.
"Get down!"
The main cannon had finished gathering energy. With a thought from the Crimson Wind Emperor, two red beams bombarded the Fearsome Evil Beast's head. A heaven-shaking boom rang out. Though it was impossible to tell whether the beast had been injured, the tremendous impact forced it beneath the water. The splashing waves shot up like flying swords, striking the Crimson Wind's shield with sharp popping sounds.
Without the slightest hesitation, the Crimson Wind Emperor piloted the Crimson Wind away at low altitude. Locking horns with a mid-level aquatic monster was a thankless task. A mid-level aquatic monster possessed combat strength comparable to a mid-level emperor, but its life force was hundreds or thousands of times greater, making it exceedingly difficult to kill.
Unfortunately, the Crimson Wind Emperor had underestimated how troublesome the Fearsome Evil Beast was.
Within the vast white mist, a long black shadow burst from the water and lashed through the air.
With a bang, the Crimson Wind was sent flying sideways. It finally crashed onto the water's surface, skidding and tumbling endlessly.
The black shadow was the Fearsome Evil Beast's tail, hundreds of miles long and covered in a horny layer resembling crocodile hide.
