The Extreme Yin Land was eerie and dangerous.
The three yao headed downward, eventually arriving at an enormous lava cavern.
The lava cavern was vast, as though the entire floating island had been hollowed out.
Streams of dark extreme yin energy spread and flowed within, almost tangible. Here, even with Su Changsheng's current defenses, he felt chilled all over.
The slightest lapse could allow the surrounding yin energy to burrow into his body, contaminating and corroding him.
The cavern's rock walls were covered in all manner of bizarre symbols, as though formed by nature, yet also as though they had grown out of thin air. Bone-piercing despair and cold seeped from them.
"Don't look at those things!"
"Watch out, or disaster will strike!"
Fatty Huang spoke hurriedly.
"What are those?"
Su Changsheng asked.
"No idea. After a Yao Emperor or Great Yao King dies, these strange symbols appear in the area around their corpse. Some are extremely dangerous. Looking at them for too long draws the observer into an illusion they can never escape."
"Legend has it that remnants of those powerful beings' wills might linger on them, but no one knows whether that's true."

After a stretch of silence, the three yao reached the end of the cavern.
An utterly black, deep pool lay here, radiating waves of sinister cold that struck fear into a yao's heart.

"Be careful. Something formidable might already have spawned inside."
