"Whoa, isn't that a bit ridiculous?"

"No, I don't believe it. How could she be that fast?"

"Does she have a supercomputer in her head?"

"I'm seriously starting to suspect she's a robot. How could a human be that absurd?"

"Yeah, I suspect that too. How could a human be that beautiful?"

"My goddess, hehehe, my goddess, hehehe..."

After wandering around a little longer with Zhang Meng and the others, they soon found their attention drawn to a hall packed with people.

Zhang Meng volunteered to squeeze inside for a look, using his towering, nearly six-foot-three frame to his advantage, then came back brimming with excitement to report his findings.

There was a competitive event going on inside.

The exhibition wasn't limited to displays. Many exhibits offered hands-on experiences, and there were also little activities to engage the freshmen, such as controlling robotic arms to play table tennis, competing to assemble certain devices, and playing chess against AI.

This hall hosted two little events jointly organized by the Information Engineering Department and the Mechanical Engineering Department. One was a hacking contest in which participants tried to breach each other's defenses, and the other involved writing algorithms on the spot to control robots provided by the venue in a competition.

This was actually a fairly old-fashioned form of "competition" among programmers. Similar games had appeared long ago, such as games resembling Battle City that required players to write their own control algorithms. There were even strategy games like Warcraft and multiplayer online MMOs of this kind.

The event in this hall was much the same, except that the virtual units controlled by algorithms had been replaced with various simple robots. Those who considered themselves good at programming could go up, modify the programs however they liked, and have their robots fight.
