I've been posting updates continuously for over two months, and I'm gradually feeling mentally worn out. I'd like to ask for a day off to rest and plan the next Breakthrough Secret Realm while I'm at it. I hope you dear readers will approve, orz.
I'll also drop some notes on this book's power system here. These will be moved to the supplementary material section later.
[Combat power system]
Pet Beasts have growth levels and species ranks.
Growth levels range from 1 to 100.
These represent a Pet Beast's stages of growth. Even a weak, low Extraordinary Pet Beast can reach level 100 as long as it lives long enough and has sufficient resources.
Every level gained increases all its attributes.
Methods of improvement: eating and growing naturally (resource enhancement), continually pushing past limits through life-and-death battles (combat breakthroughs), and improving individual attributes through special training (training improvement).
Species ranks are divided into Extraordinary, Leader, Monarch, Overlord, and Legendary, with each rank further divided into low, middle, and high.
Every stage gained greatly increases its attributes.
Generally speaking, at the same growth level, the higher the species rank, the stronger the combat power.
A level 1 Low Leader can fight a level 10 low Extraordinary.
A level 1 low Monarch can fight a level 10 Low Leader or a level 20 low Extraordinary.
And so on: a full species rank of difference grants the ability to fight opponents several levels higher.
Method of improvement: evolution [absorbing Trait Crystals and evolution resources (such as attribute-awakening resources, or resources that are highly compatible with the beast's species and sufficient to grant special abilities)].
Beyond the combat power bonuses provided by species rank and growth level, one important factor in a Pet Beast's combat power is how it uses its own energy.
