Lin Ke returned to his workstation.
He watered his plant a little, then slowly closed the door and began his day's work.
That evening, just before he was due to leave, he received an assignment and called Nan Shang.
Nan Shang sounded a little breathless on the other end, presumably having just finished working out. "What is it, hubby?"
Lin Ke said helplessly, "Sorry, Nan Shang. I might not be able to get home very early today. Something came up at work that I need to handle."
"Ahem... okay, no problem. I'll wait for you at home."
With that, Nan Shang hung up.
Lin Ke smiled faintly and continued working. Several hours later, he was utterly exhausted.
He went into the stairwell to smoke a cigarette, only to hear the sounds of teaching, imparting knowledge, and resolving doubts coming from upstairs.
He couldn't help chuckling. "Good heavens, people these days really have no inhibitions."
But then the two people upstairs exchanged words that would make anyone blush. "Isn't your man working right downstairs?"
"Weren't you going to surprise him? You even brought his favorite fruit."
"So why are you still here fooling around with me?"
Then another voice answered, "What's it to you?"
"He doesn't need to know what I'm like."
Lin Ke suddenly felt that both voices sounded familiar. Driven by curiosity, he slowly climbed the stairs.
There, he saw two familiar figures.
Lin Ke's entire worldview shattered in an instant. He felt his blood pressure soar, and then his fury ignited.

He practically roared those words.
