"I... I'm not dreaming, am I?"
Looking at the Supernatural Creatures reduced to charred corpses and the occasional arcs of electricity shooting from the scorched earth, the completely unscathed Liu Gu blinked, his expression dazed.
He abruptly reached out and pinched hard, then looked as though his suspicion had been confirmed. "No pain. I really am dreaming."
"That's my leg you're pinching!" Yan Fan gritted his teeth, then couldn't help laughing. "We're saved."
"Yes, we're saved." Having experienced joy and despair within a few short seconds, Zhang Yun shook his head vigorously and looked toward Xu Ran, whose figure emerged from the black light.
"Good thing I made it in time." Xu Ran breathed a sigh of relief and looked around. "How did you get surrounded by so many Supernatural Creatures?"
"That's a long story." Zhang Yun shook his head helplessly, then gratitude filled his eyes. "Young Boss Xu, you saved all our lives."
"You're being too polite." Xu Ran shook his head. "Captain Zhang, your experience surviving outside the city helped me a great deal, and everyone looked after me before."
"When you're in danger, it's only right that I come check on you."
"But how did you know we were here, Young Boss Xu?" Liu Xue wiped away her tears and asked with some confusion.
"The Steel-Armored Rhino hadn't been summoned for days, and none of you had come back." Xu Ran paused. "I wondered whether you'd run into some trouble you couldn't resolve, and that was why Uncle Du hadn't summoned the Steel-Armored Rhino."
"As for how I knew you were here..." Xu Ran paused briefly. "The map Captain Zhang gave me marked the areas your team often visited. I was trying my luck, too. I searched them all and happened to arrive in time."
"I see."
