After Chen Hongjun left, Li Long planned to take a few days to rest properly.
During the Fritillaria purchasing season, he had been rushing all over the place. He might not have been working nonstop, but it was close.
Now that the Fritillaria season was over, the purchasing station still took in quite a lot every day, but that was no longer something he needed to worry about. Without having to go into the mountains and make his daily rounds of purchasing stops, his days suddenly became leisurely.
He had wanted to sleep in with his wife in his arms, but Gu Xiaoxia had to go to work, and the two little rascals in the next room got up early too, dressed themselves, and clamored to go to preschool.
Life had to go on, so Li Long could only fulfill his wish to sleep in on weekends.
He simply took Mingming and Haohao to the Fourth Team instead, planning to spend the day there.
When he dropped Mingming and Haohao off at preschool, neither boy had any intention of asking him to stay. They got out, called "Bye!" to him in the car, and ran straight into their classroom.
As soon as Li Long got out of the car, he saw Mom walking slowly toward him. He went over to support her and asked as they walked:
"Mom, where's Dad?"
"He went to Little Haizi. He wanted to go work in the fields with your eldest brother and the others, but your brother wouldn't let him. He said there wasn't much work in the fields now. For things like weeding, they could just run the cultivator through."
"So my eldest brother and sister-in-law went to the fields?"
"No, your brother went to plow for someone, and your sister-in-law is planting
