Han Fang stayed with the Fourth Team for two days. After coming back and helping her mother pack at home, she went out with her classmates for half a day. Sister Yang had no worries at all about her staying with the Fourth Team.
But when it came to visiting other classmates in the county seat, Sister Yang set strict rules for Han Fang: she could only go out for half a day and had to return before dark.
Han Fang listened, too. She had been through hardships with her mother, so she knew now that not everywhere outside was safe.
In early August, Han Fang went to register-Li Long drove her there. She went so early because the school had notified her of military training. Sister Yang rode along when Li Long took her, partly to learn where the school was and partly because they had brought quite a lot of things, making a long-distance bus inconvenient.
The drive from Ma County to Beiting took a little over an hour. The Admission Notice had an address, and Li Long was fairly familiar with Beiting. He did not even need to ask for directions and quickly found the place after entering the city.
Quite a few people lingered outside the school gates. Some were there to register, while others were watching the activity.
Most had come on foot, though some had bicycles loaded with luggage. When Li Long drove up, everyone made room. His was the only car to arrive so far.
Everyone guessed he was bringing a new student, so they were rather curious.
At the school gates, Li Long got out and took Han Fang's Admission Notice to the gatekeeper. The man was not unreasonable; once he learned they were bringing a new student, he let them in.
