They talked a good deal over the meal, but Li Long mostly stayed out of the conversation. After all, the father and his two daughters had only just reunited and had plenty to say, so he mainly looked after Mingming and Haohao.
"Sister Yang's cooking is still the best," Gu Xiaoyu said as she ate. "The breakfast at the Guesthouse isn't good. The food at our university canteen is the same... maybe there just isn't much oil in it."
"Then cook for yourself when you have time," Gu Boyuan said again. "Buy a place near the university. It doesn't matter how big it is, as long as you have your own space and can cook for yourself. Of course, you could also have your mother come over and cook."
Gu Xiaoxia asked:
"Xiaoyu, how's your cooking? Mine is only so-so, anyway. It's not even as good as Mingming's dad's. He knows how to make quite a few different dishes."
Gu Xiaoyu gave Li Long a somewhat surprised look, then said sheepishly, "I can make ordinary meals. Getting the food cooked isn't a problem, but I wouldn't call it tasty."
"That's good enough." Gu Boyuan didn't set high demands for his daughters. Although he occasionally said something to Gu Xiaoxia, it was only occasionally.
In his eyes, his daughters were excellent. If they couldn't cook well, they could practice. That standard now applied not only to Gu Xiaoxia but to Gu Xiaoyu as well. What couldn't someone who had gotten into university learn to do? Their work simply had different priorities. If they wanted to cook, they could practice more and get good enough at it.
Hearing himself mentioned, Li Long merely smiled and kept an eye on Mingming and Haohao as he ate.
Sister Yang and Han Fang said little
