The gambling den was a noisy place, with scenes of joy and tragedy playing out from time to time. Several Maids stood to one side with their arms folded.
If anyone dared cheat or refuse to pay, it would be their turn to step in.
"Even, even, even..." A pale, soft-skinned fat bastard sat at the gambling table, sweat beading on his forehead. He cautiously lifted the edge of his cards, then threw them onto the table in fury.
"Fuck, I refuse to believe I can't turn things around today."
"Deal!" the fat man shouted, slapping the table. Then he searched all over himself without finding any money and tossed the cigarette pack from his pocket onto the table. "Five thousand!"
One of the gambling den's Maids glanced to the side, where Ma Wang and Gui Li-jian stood watching.
Gui Li-jian nodded slightly.
The Maid immediately understood. Everything was fine.
"That fat bastard's got some fucking luck. His dad took a knife for Flying Dragon's dad, and now Flying Dragon supports his whole family, young and old," Ma Wang cursed.
"He started running the streets at fifteen or sixteen, and now he's in his thirties and still hasn't been hacked to death. That's no fucking small feat," Gui Li-jian said with a shrug.
"He's got himself a good sworn brother and godmother!" Ma Wang sneered.
"All right, I'm off." Ma Wang said his goodbyes and left.
He had brought the man over. The rest was Gui Li-jian's business.
A while later, the fat bastard shouted with bloodshot eyes, "Get me thirty thousand! You know who I am, right? My sworn brother's Flying Dragon! The Leader of the Hongxing Society! You think he can't afford a few tens of thousands?"
"Boss!" A Maid looked at Gui Li-jian.
"Give it to him."
