It was a clearing hidden within a dense rainforest, with rows of weathered gravestones at its entrance.
The inscriptions had been worn illegible by wind and rain. Weeds grew thick nearby, and wildflowers bloomed stubbornly in the cracks,
adding a little vitality to this desolate place, yet seeming utterly out of place.
Following the old man deeper into the Clan Territory, they took a winding path paved with blue stone slabs. Moss filled the cracks, and the walls of the dilapidated buildings on either side were mottled with age. Many buildings had even collapsed into ruins.
They could see that the entire Great Yan Tribe Lands had been all but abandoned, becoming a paradise for plants.
They finally stopped before a rundown building.
The building had been constructed from a combination of some plant's vines and stone. Its roof sagged, its closed windows were rotting, and it bore a heavy sense of age.
By the light of the rising sun, Xia Sheng and Jiang Cheng looked through the open doorway and saw a jade statue standing in the front hall.
Many Spirit Plant offerings sat before the statue. Wisps of energy escaping from them were drawn by an invisible force, drifting over to the statue before dissipating.
The statue had a woman's figure and wore a battle helmet set with a ruby. Beneath the helmet was a resolute,
exquisitely beautiful face with blazing eyes filled with boundless fighting spirit. The statue was finely crafted, every piece of armor rendered in meticulous detail. They could even see the taut, powerful lines of its muscles.
