"Is this the Earthspring Star you were talking about?"
Pointing at the flowerpot beside the computer desk, Tian Bei looked utterly incredulous.
Inside the pot was an Earthspring Flower, dried out and curled, its edges yellowing. It looked as though it had been dead for some time.
The finger pointing at the withered flower trembled involuntarily as Tian Bei's delight turned to anger.
One moment, he had been looking forward to personally witnessing the birth of an unrecorded new Spirit Plant. The next, he discovered that he had been deceived.
So there was no Earthspring Star at all. The S-rated student he had seen was nothing but a fraud.
"I'm sorry, Professor Tian."
Knowing that his fabrication had been completely exposed, Meng Yuan promptly lowered his head and admitted his mistake, inwardly preparing to enter the immensely promising profession of Bricklayer in the game.
Tian Bei was about to reprimand him when a question occurred to him.
Although the student had fabricated his results, simulations had shown that the cultivation method recorded in his materials was entirely feasible.
So where exactly had he copied those materials from?
Leaving aside the fact that examinees could not search the Star Network for information, even if they had been granted that permission, what Meng Yuan had written was not even in the database.
Had he copied it from the Eclipse Race's Spirit Plant database?
Apart from the Eclipse Race, Tian Bei could think of no other source for such information.
"Meng Yuan, where did you copy your materials from?" Tian Bei lowered the finger pointing at the withered Spirit Plant, adjusted his glasses, and looked at Meng Yuan as he asked gravely.
"From the library in the game." Meng Yuan readily told the truth.
"The game? A library?"
"Yes. There's a library storing
