Gemini sank underwater again, and the four Fishmen below immediately charged up, savagely biting his legs and feet.
By the time Gemini finally managed to drive the Fishmen away, another surge of magical fluctuations spread around him. When he realized something was wrong and tried to pull away, it was already too late.
A prison of water silently enveloped him.
In the natural environment beneath the water, the Water Prison Spell took shape without a sound, making it impossible to detect.
Trapped in the water prison, Gemini had no options but to wait for it to end. Unfortunately, the prison was naturally full of water too, so it did nothing to alleviate his impending suffocation.
Meanwhile, the water prison kept draining the magic power from his body. Gemini hurriedly gulped down a potion, but recovery potions of the same type had a cooldown between uses. After drinking a potion that restored health or mana, drinking another of the same kind within a short time would have no effect.
That was why elite Wizards like Rhodes generally stocked health and Magic Potions of various types-to avoid shared cooldowns.
Gemini, however, could not possibly have reserves to match Rhodes's wealth. He only carried the most basic Small Magic Potions. After one bottle, he had no further way to replenish his mana, and the restoration was nowhere near as fast as the water prison's drain.
After a long minute, when the water prison finally dissipated, all the ordinary magic power in Gemini's body had been drained dry.
Of course, he still had crystal magic power available, so that was not a major issue. The real problem remained suffocation.
Without a supply of air, a person would lose consciousness within three minutes at most, and intense combat would shorten that time dramatically!
