A Shadow Fluffball was, simply put, a juvenile shadow creature. Its intelligence and behavior were much like those of young elemental creatures such as Fire Spirits and Thunder Spirits, driven almost entirely by instinct. It grew by devouring shadows. In other words, the shadows taken from the residents of the Cook Islands had not been used to create Shadow Fiends, but had all been fed to this creature.
Mu You beckoned, and the Shadow Fluffball soon poked its head out amid ripples in the shadow below. It glanced around warily, then jumped onto his palm only after confirming there was no danger.
Mu You looked at the black ball in his hand with a strange expression. It was hard to imagine that such a cute, dopey-looking little thing would eventually be raised into a hideous monster like the Shadow God's Shadow.

To raise it, the person behind the scenes had hidden in the Cook Islands for over a thousand years, consuming hundreds of thousands of the locals' shadows before raising it to the scale of the previous Shadow God. Mu You, however, had neither that kind of time nor any interest in such an extremely long-term raising project.
But that was fine. Even a level-0 Shadow Fluffball was already
