Inside the Tower of Heroes, an invisible moon phase appeared in the background at the start of every battle. There were six phases: new moon, crescent moon, waning moon, half moon, gibbous moon, and full moon.
These six moon phases did not appear randomly, but cycled through in order. In other words, a full moon appeared only once every six battles!
This was also why so many people disliked the Moon Badge: all the Moon Hero's divine arts required a full moon to take effect or reach their maximum effectiveness.
That meant that out of every six battles, the Moon Hero would perform spectacularly only during the full moon battle. In the others, they would be mediocre or even a liability.
Why was the Earth Badge popular? Because it was straightforward and effective. Its starting ability restored Health after battle, making it ideal for beginners, and its other abilities were all extremely practical too. It was perfect for ordinary players who wanted to bulldoze their way through without thinking.
The Light Hero, Water Hero, and others were similar, with badges that provided recovery abilities right from the start and were very beginner-friendly.
However, that friendliness lasted only through the early stages. After the tenth or twentieth floor, that straightforward approach no longer worked. Players had to try building combat systems around the different gods.
And the reason Mu You had now given up the Earth Badge and chosen the Moon Badge was precisely the Moon Scepter he carried.
A system built around a divine artifact would certainly be far more powerful than one built around ordinary relics!
"Yes." Mu You made his choice in the game.
[You have become a Moon Hero!] [Are you sure you wish to enter the Tower of Heroes again as a Moon Hero?]
