"What exactly happened?" Mu You asked curiously.
Fuya hurriedly described what she had just experienced in the game.
Mu You frowned after hearing her account. The Eerie Ones in the future had actually mutated. They even attacked fairies, and apparently had gained some ability to infect others, turning normal fairies into Eerie Ones.
This was probably why Fuya had never encountered Eerie Ones in the future. The Eerie Ones of the Previous Era were not aggressive toward Sky City's native creatures. Instead, they actively helped them repel outsiders. To the fairies, they brought only benefits and no harm, so the fairies deliberately allowed the Eerie Ones to grow unchecked.
In the present-day Bitter Garden, however, the Eerie Ones had become true "pests." Naturally, the fairies could no longer turn a blind eye to them. They exterminated every one that appeared, creating the illusion that there were no Eerie Ones.
"In short, our only lead now is this place called the Dark Grotto, right?" Mu You looked at Fuya.
"It's only a possibility... That impostor said there was no such place in the Bitter Garden. I can't shake the feeling that it just made up a name to save its own life..." Fuya said helplessly.
Mu You nodded. He was not as pessimistic as Fuya. Many things had changed drastically between the Bitter Garden's past and future. Just like Fallen Flower City and Radiant City, something's absence in the future did not mean it had not existed in the past.
With that thought, he hurried back to his game.
