With the four dead, Sky Wolf finally broke free of the trap.
He came over to Mu You. Looking at the familiar figure before him, then at the Wildmen's corpses on the ground, Sky Wolf felt both relieved and ashamed.
He was relieved that Mu You really was the Child of the Moon Sacrifice chosen by Moon Lake and had fully inherited the Former King's abilities. Now the crisis facing their people should be resolved.
What embarrassed him was... he had actually been so confident that he himself was the Child of the Moon Sacrifice...
Sky Wolf flushed a little. Thinking back, he was lucky these people's trap had caught him. Otherwise, if he had really jumped into the lake, he would simply have thrown his life away.
While Sky Wolf was feeling awkward, he suddenly heard Mu You's voice.
"Help me cut their heads open," Mu You said, pointing at the bodies on the ground.
Sky Wolf froze for a moment, then quickly understood what Mu You wanted to do. He picked up a spear from nearby and cut open the Wildmen's heads one by one.
As expected, the brain matter of all five Wildmen contained that blue crystalline substance.
"So they were all Parasitic Beings..." Mu You let out a breath.
Before these five Wildmen died, the Moon Butterflies inside them had all shown abnormalities to varying degrees. Mu You had suspected that those in this state were most likely Parasitic Beings, and now that was finally confirmed.
That made things much easier. From now on, anyone whose Moon Butterflies were in an abnormal state could be presumed to be a Parasitic Being.
With that thought, Mu You looked in a certain direction in the distance, then suddenly froze.
