Ch. 301A swarm of locusts

Mu You, Lin Xue, and Xiao Ya defeated Son of Heaven, but an enormous swarm led by the Octopus King drove them into flight. Son of Heaven revived and organized an ambush for Mu You, only for the pursuing octopuses to reach the ambushers first.

  • Mu You and his companions attacked Son of Heaven in the Darkness Realm, and Lin Xue's sickle mark drained his remaining Magic Power when he tried to dispel it.
  • Son of Heaven used “Self-destruct” to escape, and Mu You collected Map Fragment One, which showed the route through Area One.
  • A swarm of regenerating octopuses appeared and attacked; Mu You recognized the powerful creature controlling them as the Octopus King and fled while Lin Xue and Xiao Ya hid in his Empty Backpack.
  • Son of Heaven revived near the exit, reported that Mu You and Lin Xue were not Legendary Tier, and warned his teammates to avoid Lin Xue's sickle.
  • Son of Heaven's team set an ambush for Mu You at the entrance to Area Two, but the octopus swarm surged in behind him, prompting Mu You to call on them for help.

Ch. 302Don't Come Any Closer!

Mu You used the Octopus King’s Heart Vein Blood to navigate the Moving Maze after Divine Right of Kings abandoned him in Zone Three. He caught up with the guild in Zone Six, arriving with the octopuses still in pursuit.

  • Mu You led Divine Right of Kings through Zone Two while the octopuses chased them, and they agreed to guide him through another zone in exchange.
  • After entering Zone Three, Divine Right of Kings split into teams and used Son of Heaven’s self-destruction to shake Mu You off their trail.
  • Mu You followed a drop of the Octopus King’s Heart Vein Blood through the Moving Maze, using it to find his way toward the later zones.
  • Smile’s team reached Zone Six ahead of Jack’s group, believing Mu You was still lost in Zone Three.
  • Mu You unexpectedly caught up with Divine Right of Kings in Zone Six and rushed toward Demon with the octopus swarm, demanding that they hold it off.

Ch. 303The Dilapidated Thatched Shrine

Mu You led Divine Right of Kings and Jack’s pirates through Zone Five, claiming to guide them to the city center while following the Octopus King’s Heart. The group reached a dilapidated thatched shrine, and as Mu You rushed toward it, the octopuses behind them went berserk.

  • Mu You used the pursuing octopuses to force Divine Right of Kings to let him join their formation, and Son of Heaven agreed to keep him close through Zone Five.
  • Mu You led Divine Right of Kings into Zone Five while Smile’s group secretly split off to search elsewhere; the party grew suspicious as the route seemed increasingly desolate.
  • Mu You encountered Jack’s pirates and offered to guide them to the city center in exchange for help holding off the octopuses, bringing all three groups together.
  • The combined groups followed Mu You for an hour until he announced they were nearly at the city center and led them to a dilapidated thatched shrine.
  • Mu You followed a blood droplet toward the shrine, and the groups heard that the octopus defensive line had collapsed as the creatures went berserk.

Ch. 304Overwhelming strength trumped every trick

Mu You retrieved the Red Organ from the Grass Temple and gained control of the octopus swarm, leaving Son of Heaven and Jack to join forces and pursue him. At the City Center altar, Mu You confirmed it would open at 4:00 and prepared to hold the plaza until then.

  • The octopuses attacked the Grass Temple, but Mu You emerged unharmed with a beating Red Organ, and the creatures submitted to him.
  • Mu You directed the octopuses to drive the other players away, while Son of Heaven recognized that the Red Organ gave him control of the swarm.
  • After learning Smile's group had found the City Center, Son of Heaven proposed an alliance with Jack and used a prepared Blood Contract Scroll to seal their cooperation.
  • Son of Heaven and Jack followed Mu You to the City Center, where Lin Xue guarded the barrier and Mu You surrounded the plaza with octopuses.
  • Mu You entered the outer barrier with his Pocket Watch and four Map Fragments, but the altar's inner barrier rejected him and announced that it would open at 4:00.

Ch. 305I'm invincible. Do as you please

Son of Heaven and Jack led an assault on Mu You’s octopus defenses to let Son of Heaven enter the barrier and claim the City Lord position. Son of Heaven reached the altar area with borrowed Magic Power, but Mu You killed him in six seconds, leaving him stunned after his first death as a player.

  • Son of Heaven deduced that Dawn City’s barrier would open at dawn and led more than four hundred players in an assault on Mu You’s octopus defenses.
  • Lin Xue’s lightning and Mu You’s coordinated octopuses slowed the attackers, but Jack’s group broke through and Son of Heaven reached the barrier with three Map Fragments.
  • Son of Heaven entered the barrier alone and used the Azure Sky Disc to draw Magic Power from allies, permanently reducing their maximum Magic Power.
  • Mu You recognized Son of Heaven’s borrowed Magic Power and unleashed hundreds of rapid spells that drained his defenses and killed him in six seconds.
  • Son of Heaven revived outside the barrier and remained crouched in shock after experiencing his first death as a player.

Ch. 306Dawn City emerges

Son of Heaven surrendered to Mu You after realizing he could not overcome the Ghost Ship Captain, and Mu You claimed the Inheritance Crystal when the timer expired. Dawn City awakened, named Mu You its first City Lord, and emerged from Divine Concealment into the Star Spirit World at the bottom of the Evil Spirit Sea.

  • Son of Heaven left the barrier and admitted defeat while Jack urged him to keep fighting.
  • When the timer reached four o’clock, the barrier vanished and Mu You touched the Inheritance Crystal, activating Dawn City.
  • Players across Earth and the Star Spirit World received news that Dawn City had activated and Ghost Ship Captain was its first City Lord.
  • Mu You chose to end Dawn City’s Divine Concealment despite the risk of exposing it to other factions.
  • Dawn City plunged through darkness and surfaced on the seabed of the Evil Spirit Sea.

Ch. 307Dawn City, with everything waiting to be rebuilt

Mu You raised Dawn City from the Evil Spirit Sea and discovered that its ruined buildings would need to be rebuilt, beginning with the City Lord’s Castle. As he examined the castle’s rules and rewards, strange omens across the Star Spirit World signaled that the city’s return had stirred fears of an approaching war.

  • Mu You used the Altar to raise Dawn City from the seabed, expelling every creature except the Octopus King and leaving the city hovering above the sea.
  • Dawn City’s return stirred strange signs across the world: the Abyss Lord sensed the Sky Army, Laili watched the World Tree react, Salina saw the Phoenix Perch Tree flare, and the Gray-Robed One and Black-Robed One feared a new war.
  • Mu You, Lin Xue, and Xiao Ya entered the dilapidated City Lord’s Castle, where Mu You read the City Lord’s Book and learned about his authority and rating.
  • Mu You learned that his initial City Lord Rating was 30 and that reaching more than 80 after a year would renew his term automatically.
  • Mu You read about the City Lord’s compensation, including a level increase, daily experience and lifespan, a Double Experience Card, and a Golden Fruit.

Ch. 308Son of Heaven's information

After becoming Dawn City's City Lord, Mu You spoke with Son of Heaven, who shared information about a hidden Dungeon and asked him to keep the city competition's details private. Mu You then arranged for the Octopus King to serve as a guardian and considered taking Dawn City to the Cook Islands to investigate Little Girl's request.

  • Mu You assigned the Deputy City Lord positions to Lin Xue and Xiao Ya and invited Son of Heaven to join Dawn City, but Son of Heaven declined for his subordinates' sake.
  • Son of Heaven told Mu You that upgrading the Castle to level three would open a Dungeon, with a hidden space beneath it where City Lords could learn truths about the Sky Cities, the Fools, and the game.
  • Son of Heaven asked Mu You to keep the city competition's details from the public because he planned to compete for another city, and Mu You agreed while reserving the right to advise allies.
  • Mu You offered the Octopus King freedom in exchange for its help when Dawn City or Mu You faced danger, and the Octopus King returned to the sea.
  • Mu You planned to sail the Ghost Ship to the Cook Islands to investigate Little Girl's request, then realized he might be able to take Dawn City there instead.

Ch. 309Ten Million Residents

Mu You returned to Dawn City, prepared it for future development, and brought its residents and new acquisitions back to Earth before closing the gateway. He then used the City Lord interface to admit ten million players, completing his first population quest as Dawn City's capacity filled.

  • Mu You returned to the Ghost Ship, thanked Mermaid for saving the group from the Octopus King, and brought her and the little girl back to Dawn City.
  • Mu You moved the Undersea Prison's Training Scarecrow to the central plaza, gathered surviving magical fish, and spent the day preparing the city before returning through the gateway.
  • Mu You closed the gateway at five in the afternoon and checked the game's new City and City Lord interfaces, discovering three weekly quests that could earn him rating points.
  • Mu You and the Deputy City Lords filtered the billions of applications, admitting high-level players and acquaintances until Dawn City's population reached its ten-million limit.
  • Mu You completed the population quest and explained that upgrading the City Lord's Castle would soon raise the city's capacity.

Ch. 310Dawn City's construction frenzy

After Dawn City admitted its first ten million residents, Mu You organized the city’s rules and launched a rapid construction effort that soon gathered enough materials to begin upgrading the City Lord’s Castle. He then shared confidential city-capture information with Nine Nether and asked for help planning Dawn City’s buildings.

  • Ten million players received approval to enter Dawn City, while foreign players protested the allocation and domestic players defended the Ghost Ship Captain’s choice to prioritize Celestial Empire residents.
  • Mu You announced construction tasks, city rules, contribution requirements, movement rights, and incentives that encouraged residents to dismantle ruins and submit materials.
  • Residents mined enthusiastically, and Mu You gathered enough resources in eighty-eight minutes to start upgrading the City Lord’s Castle, a process expected to take twenty-four hours.
  • Mu You ignored most messages and privately gave Nine Nether details about the Sky City competition and its entry rules.
  • Mu You sent Nine Nether information about buildings available below city LV3 and asked for a construction plan, prompting Nine Nether to bring the materials to his superiors for analysis.

Ch. 311Shadow Wolf

Mu You returned the rescued elves to the forest and received a magic wand, elder status, and a powerful bodyguard as rewards. At the Secret Art Meeting, he shared what he knew about the Sky Cities before Taurus warned him about flying them too high and invited him to the abyss.

  • Mu You brought the skeletal elves to Laili, concealed Harrington’s final fate, and received a Forest Seer Magic Wand, an Elder’s Courtyard, Outsider Elder status, and Shadow Wolf’s allegiance.
  • Mu You examined his rewards and learned that the wand boosted his Wood Element abilities while Shadow Wolf was a level 23 elven hunter whose upkeep cost him three years of lifespan each day.
  • At the Secret Art Meeting, Mu You told the others when Dawn City had emerged and discussed the expected timing of the remaining Sky Cities.
  • Cancer reported that Daybreak City’s entrance had opened near the Greenrock Desert, while Leo gave Mu You the number four fragment for Eternal Night City.
  • The group traded cards and Mana Wyrms, and Mu You acquired Dazzling Curse, Magic Power Interruption, and Blizzard.
  • As the meeting ended, Taurus held Mu You back, warned him that flying Sky Cities too high would bring consequences, and invited him to visit the abyss.

Ch. 312The Lord of Dawnbreak City

After Dawnbreak City appeared and drew a million high-level players away from Dawn City, Mu You stabilized the population by announcing an upcoming city upgrade. He then warned Solomon that the Sky Cities must not fly above five thousand meters, while managing Shadow Wolf’s demanding appetite and advancing the Forest Elf quest.

  • Mu You learned from Taurus that something dangerous might exist above the high heavens, then watched Dawnbreak City rise in the Blue Rock Desert under Solomon’s rule.
  • Solomon’s recruitment offer drew about a million high-level players from Dawn City, but Mu You announced an upgrade and the population loss stopped.
  • Mu You collected his rewards, redeemed and planted the Dream Butterfly Roost, and discovered that Shadow Wolf needed magic-rich meat to satisfy her hunger.
  • Mu You took Shadow Wolf to Dawn City to gather abandoned fish, then received Solomon’s acceptance of his friend request.
  • Mu You warned Solomon that the Sky Cities must not fly too high, told him to keep the information confidential, and set five thousand meters as a safe altitude limit.

Ch. 313Seeing the World with the Mind's Eye

Mu You restored the Knowledge Ancient Tree, investigated how to advance at Red Rose Academy, and began studying Divination with Vivian. The chapter left him correctly identifying seven Tarot major cards in a row, surprising Vivian with his apparent Divination talent.

  • Mu You had Xiao Ya and Lin Xue test the Knowledge Ancient Tree and learned that higher Intelligence made its training take longer.
  • Mu You decided to keep the tree’s existence secret in the Star Spirit World while considering a future partnership to make use of it.
  • Mu You discovered that advancing at the academy required exams, club recommendations, and a letter from a prestigious Imperial Capital family, then learned Chris Fua had taken Cola home.
  • Mu You chose the Magic Potion, Flying, and Divination Clubs as possible routes to earn recommendations and asked Vivian to teach him Divination.
  • Mu You finished Vivian’s introductory book, used Tarot Cards to test his talent, and correctly identified seven major cards in succession.

Ch. 314An omen of grave misfortune

Mu You began learning Divination from Vivian and discovered that he had exceptional talent, then successfully used it to find Xiao Ya’s keys and confirm that Ye Rumeng’s sister was alive. A crystal-ball reading warned that Lin Xue faced fatal danger on her inheritance quest, so Mu You began another divination to assess her chances of survival.

  • Mu You correctly sensed most of the twenty-two Tarot Cards, and Vivian confirmed that his Divination talent was extraordinary.
  • Mu You trained his Mind’s Eye for three months in the Fool Space and learned to see the Laws of Causality, while Vivian explained the Three Rules of a Diviner.
  • Mu You used Tarot Cards to divine that Xiao Ya’s missing keys were in her jacket pocket, and Xiao Ya found them there.
  • Mu You used a mirror to divine that Ye Rumeng’s sister was alive and apparently living comfortably, despite being imprisoned by the Undead Society.
  • Mu You used a crystal ball to divine Lin Xue’s inheritance quest, but the ball shattered, which Vivian identified as an omen of fatal danger.
  • Lin Xue refused to abandon the quest because it would cost her the God of Death Clan’s bloodline and her grandmother’s keepsakes, so Mu You began divining her mortality rate.

Ch. 315Act Too Cocky and You'll Get Beaten

Mu You helped upgrade Dawn City and used its new buildings to strengthen its residents, then went to the Academy Dueling Arena and won 24 consecutive matches. After leaving the Academy, he discovered that Jones Damian and three first-year students were plotting to attack him, and he caught them on a Recording Crystal.

  • Vivian performed a divination for Lin Xue but refused to reveal what she had seen, saying she would accompany Lin Xue when the time came.
  • Nine Nether sent Mu You a report comparing 32 construction plans for Dawn City, and Mu You selected a balanced plan focused on development and defense.
  • Dawn City upgraded to LV1, and Mu You admitted another ten million players before building four attribute-boosting temples, a Training Ground, and a Teleportation Array.
  • Mu You won 24 matches at the Academy Dueling Arena, bringing his consecutive victory total to 263, though several students nearly defeated him.
  • Mu You spotted four figures following him and identified Jones Damian among them, then used a wooden doppelganger and invisibility to learn that the group planned to attack him.
  • Jones Damian and his companions destroyed Mu You's doppelganger, and Mu You revealed himself and played the Recording Crystal footage to threaten them with exposure.

Ch. 316Flying Club

Mu You secured a recommendation-letter promise from Jones Damian, advanced to level 15, and connected Dawn City’s Teleportation Array to Dawnbreak City’s. At the academy, he joined the Flying Club and learned he had to beat its president in a flying competition to earn a recommendation, then spotted a possible loophole in the rules.

  • Mu You defeated Jones Damian and three other students, then made Damian promise to obtain a recommendation letter in exchange for the Recording Crystal and a future Dueling Arena victory.
  • Mu You synthesized his fifth legendary Evolution Potion, drank all five, and broke through to level 15.
  • Mu You connected Dawn City’s Teleportation Array to Dawnbreak City’s and corrected Solomon’s mistaken rule restricting players’ flight altitude.
  • Mu You returned to the academy and learned that the Flying Club had accepted him, while the Magic Potion Club and Divination Club required interviews.
  • Mu You asked Flying Club president Charles for a recommendation letter and learned he had to defeat Charles in the club’s Flying Competition.
  • Mu You reread the competition rules and noticed that they awarded points for distance flown without setting a limit.

Ch. 317Brute-force racing

Mu You exploited his real-world magic regeneration to defeat Charles in a flying competition by completing 89 laps, then earned a recommendation from the Flying Club. He entered the Divination Club and began its recommendation test, with vice president Sinclair Jian asking him to identify her boyfriend.

  • Mu You used potions, passive regeneration, and the Fool Barrier to sustain his character through an 89-lap race, overcoming Charles despite failing to clear obstacles.
  • Charles congratulated Mu You, invited him to join the Flying Club, and gave him an advancement recommendation letter after Mu You declined the invitation.
  • Mu You entered the Divination Club, where an aptitude test surprised its members and prompted President Lott to welcome him personally.
  • Lott agreed to recommend Mu You if he correctly divined the president and six vice presidents, warning that they would set misleading traps.
  • Sinclair Jian asked Mu You to divine which club member was her boyfriend.

Ch. 318A profession born for gossip

Mu You passed the Divination Club’s tests and earned its recommendation letter, then joined the Magic Potion Club by demonstrating his brewing skill. He began the club’s notoriously difficult potion-analysis assessment, successfully identifying the first sample with Vivian watching.

  • Mu You used divination and the Pocket Watch to answer Jian’s question, discovering that she was dating Mitchell, Fitch, and Quincy, and then correctly identified Eden’s real father.
  • Mu You answered the other vice presidents’ divination questions, and President Lott used a candle divination to decide to give him a recommendation letter and a private room.
  • The Magic Potion Club initially rejected Mu You because his aptitude test results were too low, but he demonstrated his skill by brewing seven kinds of tier-two potions perfectly and joined the club.
  • Harvey assigned Mu You an assessment to identify the ingredients and causes of failure in six potion residues, a test devised by the club’s first president, Anthony Vivian.
  • Mu You learned that Vivian had once taught potion brewing at the academy, then analyzed the first residue as a Powerful Antidote that had failed because it contained too much poison gland.

Ch. 319A global manhunt

Mu You passed the Magic Potion Club assessment after exposing that a vice president had slipped in a Tier Five potion to target him, then learned that the mysterious First Light City Lord refused to emerge the city and triggered a worldwide manhunt. He accepted the Dark Elves’ quest to clear a temple of Goblins and obtain another Eternal Night City fragment.

  • Mu You failed to identify the sixth potion, and Vivian revealed it was a failed Tier Five Permanent Transformation Powder; he exposed the trick and learned Stil Jemma had targeted him because of his surname.
  • Harvey apologized, counted Mu You’s first five potion analyses as a pass, and promised him a recommendation letter; Mu You collected Damian’s letter and submitted all four required recommendations to the Academy.
  • First Light City activated under the unknown Z Worldwalker, who rejected friend requests from Mu You and Solomon and kept the city hidden instead of bringing it into the world.
  • Solomon revealed that City Lords could choose whether to emerge their cities, prompting major factions and players around the world to launch a manhunt for Z Worldwalker.
  • Mu You blew the Elf Horn, found no change in the other available quests, and accepted the Dark Elves’ quest to clear Goblins from a temple for Eternal Night City Fragment Nine.

Ch. 320Dark City

Mu You found the Dark Temple too heavily guarded to approach and used Lin Xue’s map to lead a party through a termite nest that might connect to it. After the group farmed experience among the Soldier Ants, they were surrounded at a broken bridge, and Mu You prepared to search for the Termite Queen.

  • Mu You found the Dark Temple protected by automated weapons and retreated after the defenses killed him.
  • Mu You asked Lin Xue for a map, and she pointed him toward a termite nest with paths that might lead to the temple.
  • Mu You gathered Lin Xue, Xiao Ya, Lin Hai, Pandaren, and Shadow Wolf to enter the nest together.
  • Mu You’s party fought through dense Soldier Ants, gaining experience while Lin Hai struggled to counter their poison.
  • Mu You reached level sixteen, and the rest of the party also leveled up as their lifespan drained during the fight.
  • The Soldier Ants surrounded the party at a broken bridge, so Mu You told his teammates to cover him while he searched for the queen.
