Lier survives the Kang Tao and Militech operations, then returns to Hell’s Kitchen and helps its residents organize against eviction and crime. After his evidence leads to the arrest of a gang leader, Kingpin orders Bullseye to kill Lier and the first person who joined him.

• Lear woke in a hospital after dying, learned that his mother Maya Li had cared for him through three years in a coma, and resolved to overcome his illness with help from his personal panel.
• Lier teamed up with V to take Zhu Shen’s job, negotiated a contract to intercept Cai Pin’s convoy, and arranged for Nott’s Veterans Association to provide network support.
• Lier and V infiltrated Kang Tao’s compound, stole the Reality Distortion Project files, and attacked Cai Pin’s convoy, but Militech forces and Nott turned against them.
• V killed Nott, and Lier installed Nott’s prototype Sandevistan and used the Blackwall to disable the pursuing Militech squad before escaping with V.
• Back in Hell’s Kitchen, Lier agreed to help Matt Murdock challenge the Kate Company and defend local residents facing eviction by Wilson Fisk’s United Construction Company.
• Lier organized tenants into a Homeowners Association, recruited John and Anthony to help install security, and taught Skye while connecting the building to the electrical network.
• When looters broke into the building, John, Anthony, the residents, Matt as Daredevil, and Lier fought them off, and Lier gave Matt surveillance footage to support the case.
• Lier and Matt brought the evidence to George Stacy, who arrested Badman Williams, and Kingpin then ordered Wesley to send Bullseye after Lier and the first person who had joined him.

Lier’s work in Hell’s Kitchen drew the attention of Kingpin and ended in a warning, while a dangerous smuggling run brought him and V to Night City. As Lier’s failing health forced him to seek treatment, he built alliances, founded Bloom research institute, and began targeting Sixth Street’s supply network.

• Lier helped Matt and the Homeowners Association draw residents together, but Bullseye ambushed them, and a dump truck crushed Bullseye’s van, and Lier’s surveillance helped the NYPD clear Rigordo as Kingpin retreated and an unstable-energy warning arrived.
• Lier and V crossed into Night City with Jackie Welles, carrying Arasaka’s stolen cargo, and their car was caught between Militech and Arasaka forces, and Lier’s improvised smart-shotgun attack let them escape with an endangered iguana.
• Vic diagnosed Lier with acute lung failure from his cyberware, and Lier chose risky lung and heart-support implants while adapting his Sandevistan and installing a cyberdeck.
• Lier secured Padre’s help with an identity for Arasaka Academy, moved into Megabuilding H10 with V, and began studying while taking jobs against Sixth Street with V and Jackie.
• Lier met Matt at Empire State University and offered to fund Professor Curt Connors’s research with iguana DNA and technical support, becoming Connors’s partner.
• Lier established Bloom research institute with Skye as director, assigned its first projects, and planned to obtain Biotechnica’s DNA Splicing Instrument.
• After Melissa told them about Amina, Sixth Street attacked the Afterlife, and Lier, V, and Jackie fought back, and Lier told Padre he was dying, and Padre offered information on the gang’s channels.
• Lier proposed robbing Sixth Street’s supply chain while letting the Valentinos take public credit, and V and Jackie agreed, and they headed toward Rama Arsenal as Lier prepared to confront Rochelle Kaplan and Roshan.

Lier and his crew dismantled Sixth Street’s medicine and weapons operation, defeated James Norris, and brokered a ceasefire with the Valentinos. As Lier expanded his work across Night City and beyond, he met David, who sought a place at his side while Gloria remained in danger.

• Lier broke into Rochelle’s shop, turned its turret guns against her, and forced her to close the store and hand over grenades.
• Lier, V, and Jackie ambushed Sixth Street’s shipment, recovered medicine hidden among the weapons, and sold arms to Padre while seeking the medicine’s buyers.
• Lier negotiated with Chief Hector Krois to sell Red Ochre medicine at a discount in exchange for the tribe ending its ties with Sixth Street, then secured the tribe’s support and vehicles.
• Lier and his crew infiltrated Sixth Street’s territory, traced its dealings through Cheson, and found James Norris, a heavily augmented former soldier who had gone berserk.
• Lier, V, and Jackie fought James Norris, killed him, and led the Valentinos into Arroyo, where Lier forced Sergeant to surrender and agreed to a ceasefire.

Martin healed Lier with Negative Energy, and Lier returned to Night City to crush the Voodoo Boys and uncover links to brainwave manipulation and an orbital killing that drew Saburo Arasaka’s attention to Lucy.

• Lier rescued David and Gloria from the Scavengers and the doctor, and David decided to leave Arasaka Academy.
