Soup Dumpling made up his mind. He could no longer redeem any One-Time Items, and his Spirit Pupil count was stuck at an awkward level. If he wanted to obtain a Permanent Exclusive Item as soon as possible, he would have to risk his life!
This opportunity was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. In later games, he might never encounter another opportunity this rare to break the deadlock. If so, he would accumulate Spirit Pupils even more slowly, making it even harder to survive this terrifying game.
With that thought, he no longer hesitated.
He did not forget to fulfill the Vengeful Ghost's wish first, carrying it to the bed and settling it down.
"I'm turning around now. I'll pull you out."
"Okay!"
The woman's voice was especially excited.
Soup Dumpling took a deep breath as well and slowly turned his head.
He had imagined many horrifying sights, but at this moment, what he saw was actually relatively tolerable to him.
The Vengeful Ghost wearing March's skin had closed the eyes on its head with March's face, seemingly asleep.
Beside that head was another, belonging to an unfamiliar woman. She looked at him pleadingly, seemingly terrified that he would change his mind.
She really was still human...
He breathed a sigh of relief.
Although he had no ability to distinguish Vengeful Ghosts from humans, the look in this unfamiliar woman's eyes was all too familiar.
In previous games, players on the brink of death, including himself, had all worn that look.
"Your name is Anran? How much longer can you hold on?" he asked quietly, afraid that speaking too loudly would wake "March's head."
"What if the ghost wakes up when I've only pulled you halfway out? You have to tell me the truth!"
He spoke with extreme seriousness.
Anran hurriedly nodded
