What color was the sky?
What color were the clouds?
A phrase that often came to mind was "blue skies and white clouds."
But today, the moment Zhong Xueran opened her eyes, the sky she saw was red, and the clouds floating across that red sky were black.
Zhong Xueran rubbed her eyes hard, only to discover that her hands were a strange color too, tinged with a faint white glow.
What was going on?
Was something wrong with my eyes?
She rubbed her eyes again, but nothing changed.
Was I still half asleep?
Zhong Xueran opened her bedroom door and went to the bathroom.
She lived alone. There was no one else in her home.
She turned on the faucet, about to cup some water in her hands and wash her face to wake herself up, only to discover that the water flowing from the faucet was black too!
At last, she began to panic a little.
She took out her phone. Its black screen had now turned white, and its frame had become a dazzling silver.
She quickly dialed a number. "Hello? Yang, something's wrong with my eyes!"
"What happened?" Yang's voice was unhurried, always able to calm people down quickly.
"The colors... all the colors in the world have gone haywire. The sky is red, the clouds are black, and the water is black. It's like... a photographic negative, but with far more colors than a black-and-white negative... it's... strange." Zhong Xueran could not really explain it herself. Aside from the bizarre changes in the colors she saw, she had noticed nothing strange.
At that moment, Yang seemed to understand something. "Xueran, including the Spirit Pupil Reward from [Yellow Springs Opera], you should have a hundred and fifty now, right?"
"Yes! Exactly a hundred and fifty. Why?"
