Yun Che arrived at the third-floor office, where two academic instructors, a man and a woman, were already inside.
The man wore a gray robe and looked slightly weary as he bent over a stack of test papers, grading them.
The woman wore a pale blue dress. Pretty and refined, she was engrossed in the book in her hands.
When Yun Che entered, both gave him a polite nod before returning to their work.
Yun Che nodded lightly in response, then walked to the desk bearing his name. After sitting down, he took a brief look around his workspace.
Though small, the room was simply and tastefully furnished. A lush orchid sat on the windowsill, bringing a little life to the rather dreary space.
Next, Yun Che used Divine Hand on the two of them. They might only be academic instructors with low cultivation, but even a mosquito had a little meat on it. He had to milk them for what he could.
Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received 10 experience points. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received one love letter.
Yun Che froze. He opened the love letter he had taken from the female instructor right there in his inventory, and the moment he read it, he felt as though lightning had struck him.
The letter was so sickeningly sentimental that he could barely stand it.
It contained sweet nothings such as, "Nothing could be more beautiful than a future day when I kiss you before bed, hold you through the night, and wake up with you beside me."
And, "When I spotted you in the vast sea of people, my heart trembled as it never had before."
There was also, "I wanted to give you the best thing in the world, only to discover that the best thing in the world was you."
There were over a hundred lines like these. Reading them made Yun Che's scalp prickle and goosebumps rise all over his body.
Most importantly, the letter had actually been written to her by the instructor beside her, whose name was Song Bai.
In other words, the two were having a secret office romance.
Yun Che stood up and casually walked past her desk, discreetly dropping the letter-which seemed to have been read countless times-beside her feet.
"Instructor Jia Fang, you dropped something."
Jia Fang followed his gaze and went pale with alarm. She hurriedly bent down, picked it up, and stuffed it into her pocket. "Th-thank you, Instructor Yun," she said gratefully.
Yun Che smiled and waved it off, then left the office and headed toward Class Nine, which he would soon be teaching.
Falling Moon Academy had nine classes in total. Class One was undoubtedly the best, a gathering of geniuses, while Class Nine was the class everyone had the least faith in. Yun Che was the instructor responsible for teaching Class Nine's academic subjects.
He encountered some students along the way and naturally did not let them escape, either. Although most of what he obtained was useless junk, he did occasionally manage to snag something good.
Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received 15 copper coins. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received one weasel-hair writing brush. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received five sheets of high-quality toilet paper. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received one portion of bird feed. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received the mid-grade combat technique, Bright Light Sword Art.
When Yun Che heard the announcement about toilet paper, he shook his head helplessly. He had taken it from a male student who had rushed past.
If his guess was right, the boy had eaten something bad and was hurrying to the latrine.
"Sorry, kid. This talent grabs things at random. I didn't mean to leave you without any toilet paper. Hopefully, you have some spare!"
Unfortunately, Yun Che's prayers went unanswered. After relieving himself, the boy discovered that his toilet paper was gone. With no other choice, he could only take off a sock.
A few minutes later, Yun Che reached Class Nine's classroom. Only a dozen or so people were scattered around the spacious room, and almost all were doing their own thing. Some were even asleep.
The instructor at the lectern looked calm and showed no intention of disciplining them. He simply carried on with his lecture, then quietly left the classroom when his time was up, without assigning any homework.
Clearly, this was routine in Class Nine. The students had no ambition, and the instructors had long since given up on this class, notorious as a dumping ground for trash.
Yun Che did not mind which class he taught, so long as there were people for him to use Divine Hand on.
However, when he arrived at Class Nine's classroom the following morning, he found only five students there. One was a sweet, slightly spacey girl absorbed in a book. The other four were boys chatting among themselves, completely ignoring his presence as their instructor.
In the office building, academic director Ding Man stood by a window that offered a perfect view of Class Nine's classroom. Seeing only a handful of people in the vast room, he gave a contemptuous snort.
"Oh, Yun Che, Yun Che. Being an academic instructor isn't easy! Especially an academic instructor for Class Nine. I hope you can hold out a little longer, or I'll have a hard time explaining things to King Qin."
Yun Che did not care whether students came to class. He began preparing his lesson.
Before starting, though, he naturally had to fleece these five little lambs.
Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received 4 experience points. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received 1 stamina point. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received one owl mask. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received one first-grade Blood Clotting Pill. Ding! Successful grab. Congratulations! You received basic herbalism knowledge.
Yun Che was mildly startled. He could even grab knowledge? He glanced in surprise at the sweet, slightly spacey girl who was reading so intently.
The knowledge taught in academic classes covered four fields: herbalism, geography, cultural history, and mathematics.
Academic instructors generally preferred teaching geography and cultural history, since those subjects mostly involved explaining textbook material and expanding on it, which required relatively little effort.
Although Yun Che possessed mathematical knowledge many times more advanced than that of this world, he had no intention of forcing everyone to change their understanding, much less inviting unnecessary trouble.
Thus, he limited his lessons to cultural history.
As he taught, he did not even notice how unusually clear his explanations became whenever he described heroes using combat techniques or cultivation arts. His listeners could grasp the meaning at once, as though a light had come on.
This change naturally stemmed from the various cultivation arts and combat techniques he had absorbed, which had given him a profound understanding of certain cultivation methods.
In particular, when he discussed Fire Spirit Art and Phoenix Soaring Flash, both of which he knew inside out, his explanations flowed even more easily and thoroughly. He even included some hidden key points that other instructors would not readily teach.
Of the five students present, only the sweet, slightly spacey girl who loved reading noticed this detail.
She closed her book, her eyes brightening, and began listening to Yun Che's explanations with rapt attention.
Before long, the bell rang. Yun Che closed his book and prepared to leave the classroom.
Just then, the sweet girl with the slightly vacant expression hurried over and asked eagerly, "Instructor Yun, can Phoenix Soaring Flash really produce three consecutive flashes?"
Yun Che was puzzled. He did not understand why she would ask an academic instructor about something taught by martial instructors.
Still, he did not dwell on it. Since a student had a question, he would answer it. He happened to know about it anyway.
After Yun Che explained it in detail, the girl bowed deeply to him, her face brimming with excitement.
"Thank you, Instructor Yun! I'll definitely be on time for your next class. Goodbye, Instructor Yun!"
Yun Che watched her hurry out of the classroom, a faint, satisfied smile appearing on his face.
"What a good student. She really loves learning!"
