A low, hoarse roar rolled out through the black mist. An enormous skeletal claw that blotted out the sky reached from the mist, sweeping toward the city wall with a sickly-sweet wind of decay. The light barrier over the entire shelter trembled slightly beneath its grasp, and earth and stones rained down.
Yun Che stood at the gun emplacement, his fingertips resting against the still-hot muzzle. The corners of his lips curled as cold killing intent rose in his eyes.
Du Lin stepped forward and patted Yun Che on the shoulder, saying gravely, "The energy weapons we're developing can't fight a demon like this yet. Let's retreat into the shelter first! Our newly upgraded energy barrier can hold out for a while longer."
Yun Che smiled and shook his head, keeping the muzzle trained on the colossal creature gradually emerging from the black mist.
"This... is the god you were talking about?"
Beside him, Du Lin, Mo Duo, and Jiang Cha swallowed. Could they really defeat a demon like this?

In an instant, all the demon's scales fell away, revealing smooth, tender skin.

Twenty High-Energy Ion Cannons lit up blue at once, their fully charged shells pouring toward the demon one after another. Stripped of his defensive scales, the Divine Realm demon could only roar wildly beneath the concentrated bombardment despite his enormous size. Black-red blood gushed from his
