Jade Embroidery Valley was surrounded by mountains on three sides, facing south with its back to the north.
To the south lay a vast expanse of poisonous trees, grasses, and flowers, including upas trees, heartbreak grass, and rotbone flowers.
To the north stood a tall mountain, behind which lay a sheer cliff ten thousand zhang high. Below the cliff, a great river surged past like a white dragon.
When Yi Yi and A Wen had fled, they had taken the route through the rear mountain, where those eighteen people had forced them to jump off the cliff.
Without his Water Monkey ability, even if the fall from such a high mountain had not killed him, the raging river would have drowned him!
Yi Yi rushed out of the inn without a word along the way, acting as though no one was behind him. Keeping his eyes straight ahead from beginning to end, he focused on heading up the mountain and soon reached the riverbank beneath the cliff behind Jade Embroidery Valley.
The roaring current thundered past.
Yi Yi tilted his head back and looked up.
The mountain peak rose like a sword into the clouds, green poisonous miasma swirling around the clifftop. The sight alone inspired dread.
-Without an antidote to the miasma, outsiders would gain nothing by climbing up.
-Even with an antidote, one or two people could accomplish little. Others were standing guard at the clifftop.
"Don't be afraid."
Cao Jinxing's calm voice drifted into his ears.
Just like before...
Yi Yi's heart steadied.
I'm not afraid!
He had taken this route for two reasons. First, he wanted to lead Cao Jinxing in an unexpected attack, exploiting the enemy's weakness. Starting from Wild Ghost Village's least defended point, they could head straight for the Ancestral Hall Underground Palace
