Far away, the presence deep within Auchindoun—the Naaru known as K'ure—released a melodious note.
Velen bowed his head deeply and continued his focused meditation.
"The Draenei need your help, great Naaru. Not long ago, a fractured race united and began to grow stronger. But regrettably, this is not good news. Their rise has brought terrifying darkness. I seek your guidance. I pray to you—if you still care for those who follow you, grant me guidance now."
"Death... life."
K'ure's voice entered Velen's mind, yet it no longer dispelled the Prophet's doubts as it once had.
"K'ure?"
"Go seek death and life," the Naaru reminded him once more. Velen was utterly baffled. Holy Light above, what did that mean?
"They... have already arrived."
K'ure's guidance was so brief and perplexing. Before Velen could ask further, the mental connection between him and the Naaru ended.
The Prophet was deeply concerned about K'ure's condition. He could not help suspecting that the rise of the Iron Horde had indirectly affected the Naaru as well.
When High Archbishop Akama hesitantly approached Velen, the latter was immersed in meditation. Velen knelt on one knee in the central courtyard of Karabor Temple. Lush grass and trees flourished here, while the fragrance of flowers permeated the air. Comfortable benches surrounded a circular pool. Water murmured through the pool, and branches and leaves swayed in the breeze with soft rustling sounds. The garden was peaceful and serene, an ideal place for meditation.
For a long time, the Draenei had lived peacefully in their cities, speaking with the radiant Naaru, beings of unusual physical form. The Naaru taught them, traveled with them, showed them many worlds, and then gave them prophecies to prepare for disasters yet
