  • Cattiss explained the Swarm's origins and shared what she knew about the Holy Sword, the True Ancestor, and the Twelve Saints.
  • Lin Hao let Cattiss leave with a blood-red summoning gem and considered targeting Duke Fisher or the newly Legendary Yōma King.
  • Lin Hao prepared to leave, gathered supplies and explosives, and reassured Li Yanbing and the others before setting out from the Plas City-State.

Ch. 285Source of Life

A battle over the Source of Life at Fairy Lake escalated when Sean Lauren ambushed the exhausted fighters and seized it, but Lin Hao revealed himself and struck Sean down, taking the Source for himself. Lin Hao gained the Source’s replenishing power, while Sean and Yana continued fighting and Flint escaped; Lin Hao then considered how to use the Source and gather Wish Power for his Legendary breakthrough.

  • Yana fought Flint over Fairy Lake while Fisher and his companions defeated the three Epic fighters from the Kingdom of Lauren, leaving Warren alive and badly wounded.
  • Sean Lauren ambushed the exhausted Red Maple fighters, took the Source of Life, killed Fisher, the Count of High Mountain, the Tiger of Military Intelligence, and Warren, and revealed himself as Warren’s father.
  • Yana and Flint joined forces against Sean, who tried to escape across the lake, but Lin Hao ambushed him with a powerful sword strike and severed his arm, taking the Source of Life.
  • Lin Hao equipped the Source of Life and felt its power replenish his energy, while Flint fled and Yana kept fighting Sean.
  • Lin Hao examined the Source’s properties and considered collecting more Sources of Life and Wish Power to prepare for his Legendary breakthrough.

Ch. 286Spoils

After surviving the battle, Lin Hao used his new strength and shadow servants to collect the Count of High Mountain’s wealth and arrange its transport. He left Qiu An and Wen Tailai with the wagons and two disguised Epic servants, then headed alone toward an Evacuation Item signal in the Brute Kingdom.

Back in Huilas, he reviewed his growing medicine business and prepared to travel south to test whether Cattiss had truly submitted.

  • Lin Hao entered Brute City and confronted Winter XVII and Winter XIII in the royal palace, demanding Winter XVII’s crown, which held the Evacuation Item.
  • Winter XIII persuaded Winter XVII to hand over the crown, and Lin Hao left after suggesting they could discuss cooperation later.
  • Winter XVII and Winter XIII received news that a suspected transmigrator had severed Sean Lauren’s arm and seized Duke Fisher’s Source of Life.

  • Back in Huilas, Lin Hao and Li Yanbing reviewed their profitable medicine business, and Lin Hao ordered preparations to protect and expand it.
  • Lin Hao decided to travel south to the Southern Wasteland to find out whether Cattiss had submitted.

Ch. 288Insect Source

  • Cattiss told Lin Hao that she could bring a slow, heavily armored Legendary beetle named Malcolm to him, and Lin Hao prepared an ambush with the Count of High Mountain and the Tiger of Military Intelligence.
  • Cattiss led Malcolm to the meeting place and attacked him, while two Epic Shadow Soldiers fired 40 mm bolts to hold his attention.
  • Lin Hao empowered his Heroic Spirit Soul with [A Promise Worth a Thousand Gold] and overwhelmed Malcolm, killing him despite his powerful defenses.
  • Lin Hao used [Heart of the Swarm] and Swarm Will to replace Cattiss’s connection to the Mother of the Swarm, then reduced her independent permissions while promising to reward her help.
  • Lin Hao extracted Malcolm’s polluted Insect Source and examined its properties, including [Insect Breathing: Source] and [Swarm Adaptation].

Ch. 291Kicked too soon

Lin Hao confronted the Alchemy Guild over attacks on caravans and killed Epic Ezra with a single Holy Light Slash. • Ryan Fisher approached Lin Hao before the conference, and Lin Hao said he would demand an explanation from the Alchemy Guild without blaming Ryan for carrying its message.
  • Lin Hao spent the night drinking with Daphne and Yana Moonshadow, then attended the quota conference, where Dane Stonefist publicly showed support for him.
  • Daphne and Yana backed Lin Hao when Stran Lauren challenged him, and the gathered Legendaries' hostility unsettled the conference.
  • Lin Hao accused the Alchemy Guild of arranging the attack on his caravan and demanded that those responsible be executed; Stran framed his demand as a declaration of war.
  • Lin Hao accepted that framing, but excluded the dwarves, elves, and Theocracy from the dispute and offered the guild a final chance to comply.
  • The Alchemy Guild directors unanimously rejected Lin Hao's demand, so he declared the guild his enemy, warned its partners, and left the Imperial Palace.

Ch. 299Snowfield

Lin Hao traveled to Bright Fortress and joined Lachlan’s team to investigate Ice Yōma tracks in the Snowfield. After the Snowfield Bandits confronted them over Pete’s knowledge of the Thirteen Great Thieves’ treasure, Lin Hao’s [Ice Yōma Eye] heated up, signaling that an Ice Yōma was approaching.

  • Lin Hao killed the Yōma King, retrieved the corrupted [Source of Flame], and discovered that it granted disguise, vitality, and qi-and-blood abilities.
