A threat. A blatant threat.
And so...
Naturally, an argument broke out.
But half an hour of arguing accomplished nothing.
The tour guide stood firm: "I've already warned you. If you're so capable, get off the bus and find your own way home. I won't stop you. If you want to stay with us, you have to spend money."
After another round of arguing, the guide even named her prices: spend 5,000 per person, and they would visit the attractions tomorrow.
Spend 1,000 to get on the bus and keep shopping tomorrow. Anyone who spent less than 1,000 could get lost.
Qin Xinya and her parents decided to give in for now and deal with it once they got home.
They were in an unfamiliar place and did not even speak the language. There was simply nothing they could do.
In the end, swallowing their distress and disgust, they bought 3,000 worth of goods and returned to the hotel.
That night.
After discussing it with her parents, Qin Xinya made a decision: leave the tour group and go straight home.
Going home would have been fine, but she made the worst possible decision: telling the guide about it.
The guide warned them along these lines: the country was unsafe and dangerous, and they would have to bear the consequences if they went off on their own.
Qin Xinya ignored the obvious threat.
All she wanted now was to buy plane tickets home.
Then she would expose these unscrupulous guides and this disgusting travel company.
The result was...
They had barely left the hotel before local thugs kidnapped them.
A few hours later, the guide came to "rescue" them.
With a face full of smiles and a gentle voice, the female guide told her this.
"We've negotiated with them. You'll have
