As a separate building on campus, the Laboratory Building housed Physics and Chemistry Laboratories that were mostly just for show, along with numerous empty classrooms that served as exam rooms during school exams.
In each year, only the top three hundred science students and top two hundred humanities students qualified to take their exams in the Laboratory Building.
Unlike the exam rooms in the classroom buildings, where students were seated in a shuffled order, the seating here was arranged straightforwardly according to each student's ranking in the previous exam.
